Problem with layers since updating to 1.9.3

Recommended Posts

I remove halos using this procedure:

1: Open image in AP
2: Add new layer (above)
3: Set blend mode to Darken
4: Select Clone Stamp
5: Set layers option to Current and Below
6: Option click to set clone source immediately above the halo

7: Brush in the clone over the halo

Since updating to 1.9.3 the layers option dropdown has disappeared!   Not sure if it is because of a bug, a change in how to do it, or an inadvertant error on my part, but I'm absolutely sure I need the feature back!  It usually is present in the area marked by the red oval in the attached.

Click the ">>" symbol at the end (after the Stabilizer checkbox). It should display the rest of the (missing) controls. For some reason Affinity is hiding them as if you had a small screen and not enough space to display them all. To fix this do the following if necessary: press and hold ctrl while launching the application until a Clear User Data dialog appears, keep the first three checkboxes ticked then press the Clear button. Do not tick any other checkboxes as they will reset any brushes, assets etc that you may have added to the app.

Thanks - it was indeed the chevrons!   Don't recall seeing them/needing to click there before but happy all fixed (and appreciate the well-nigh instant response).

It's gone again!   I did the clear as suggested in your 14th May post but no context toolbar and no chevrons

The chevrons are post of the Context Toolbar.

View > Show Context Toolbar should restore it.

Thanks Walt, but I had already done that.  And a rest as advised by MEB (and which worked before) and tried different brush settings ...

And from that screenshot I see the Context Toolbar is showing.

But for that screenshot you have the View Tool selected, not one of the brush tools. What does the Context Toolbar show when you select the tool you want to use?
