indieAlpha
I run both Mac and Windows on my Mac, using BootCamp. Do I need to buy a separate license for use on both 'machines'? TIA Aaron
Staff StevenS Posted March 15, 2021 Staff Share Posted March 15, 2021 Hi @indieAlpha, welcome to the Affinity forum. Serif Software is platform specific. If you wish to use Serif Software on both Mac and Windows platforms, you must purchase a license for each. https://store.serif.com/help/ Quote Any spelling or grammatical errors found in the above post are deliberate and included to boost the self-esteem of those who spot them. If you already have a licence for the MAS version, why would you want to run the Windows version on the same machine? It is the same machine, but I dual boot between Mac and Windows. So I was trying to make my workflow better, than having to switch back Mac to alter graphics and then move top a shared drive and then boot back to windows. Have you considered running Parallels Desktop or VMware Fusion so you don’t have to do all that dual booting? I’ve never had a Mac and therefore I can’t speak from experience, but I understand that you can set things up so that Boot Camp (or perhaps the Windows partition?) is treated as a virtual machine, making file exchange much more straightforward. I use Parallels as well. I am running on a 2018 Mac Mini with an external GPU, unfortunately Parallels cannot interface directly to it as it is being used by the OS. I dual boot when I need to use the external GPU on Windows, which is a lot of the time with the work that I do. Alfred
