Staff Gabe Posted March 18, 2021 Staff Posted March 18, 2021 Hi @Scarymonk, Welcome to the forums. Are you on the latest version of iOS14? Quote
Scarymonk Posted March 19, 2021 Author Posted March 19, 2021 Quote Yes I’m on the latest version of iOS the problem seems to be with the import from iphotos on the iPad the images seem to be small highly pixelated jpeg even though the original on iPhoto clearly shows the image as a raw photo Quote
Staff Gabe Posted March 19, 2021 Staff Posted March 19, 2021 Are those RAW files portrait or landscape? Quote
Scarymonk Posted March 19, 2021 Author Posted March 19, 2021 It only seems to happen with raw portrait files imported from iphotos Quote
Omar.Montreal Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 I have the same problem. A message shows saying the photo doesn’t have a profile. Photos are raw files from a Nikon z50. Using iPad Pro, iOS 14.4.1. Quote
Scarymonk Posted March 22, 2021 Author Posted March 22, 2021 Affinity don’t seem either to care or help with this problem ! no real answers or solutions Quote
Staff Gabe Posted March 22, 2021 Staff Posted March 22, 2021 If it's just portrait photos, we are aware of this issue and it has already been logged with our developers. The workaround for now is to save the raw files locally and then they should load OK. Quote
Scarymonk Posted March 23, 2021 Author Posted March 23, 2021 Thanks for the solution, I’ll give it a try many thanks Quote

TomSL Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 Brand new to Affinity today but unfortunately not off to a great start. I have the same issue importing portrait raw files from iOS Photos (up-to-date iPad pro 2018, Nikon D750). The photos were imported straight to the iPad. Portrait raw files do open successfully if copied from Photos to Files - I put it in the Affinity location - but I’d rather not have to do this every time I want to edit a portrait oriented photo. Any news on when this might be fixed? Quote
