Normal Map Painting

Recommended Posts

You can paint a normal map using any brushes.
Use the document palette. There are just two colors, RGB 255 and RGB 235.

Normal map is almost ready. There is a small problem, but it can be fixed.

In Designer. Normal Map + Vector Brush. As in the previous variant, you will need to fix the dark parts of the image.

Can you give some more info on the painting proces. I am a newby to Affintiy Photo so some basics are lost to me in your demonstration video's.

a) how to you do the inverse paint? All i am able to to do is make dents in your video you also seem to be able to fille them in again.

b) in your 2nd video you are saying you are fixin a small problem can you explain a bit more what your fixing there and why you seem to do an import and export step?

c) in order to use the normal map in a 3d application what steps do i need to take?

d) can i also use the normal map in affinitiy photo to give dept to another flat image?

Thanks for making this possible with affinity photo in the first place. I would have thought it would be impossible.
