blackstone
Hallo.
Jowday
There is no typography mapping during import? 😞 Quote "The user interface is supposed to work for me - I am not supposed to work for the user interface." walt.farrell
The text styles specified in the Word file will be added to your Publisher document, and used for the imported text. You cannot prevent that. You can, however, use Find and Replace to find text with one named text style and change the text style to another one. Christian5
This is not quite correct. In Word, selected text can be copied (Ctrl+C) to the clipboard and then pasted into a Publisher text frame via "Edit/Paste without format" (shortcut Ctrl+Alt+Shift+V). No formats or format volumes will be copied.

However, the original post mentioned "importing a Word document", which usually means File > Place, not Copy/Paste, so the answer was given in that context.
