If there's no product key in your Affinity Store account you probably purchased from the Mac App Store. And in that case you cannot downgrade to 1.8.

Thanks for your  speedy replies.

I believe that I purchased Affinity from the Apple App Store in January 2018.

Does that have implications re locating the product key number ?

If you purchased from Apple (Mac App Store) they you will not have a Product key number, your purchase is tied to your Apple ID. For example I have Photo and Designer from the MAS and Publisher from Serif/Affinity, so I have a Product key number for Publisher but not for Photo. Download again from the Mac App Store.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.5.7 | Affinity Photo 2.5.7 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.7 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

But as has been mentioned elsewhere, the Mac App Store only makes available the most current version (now 1.9.0) so unless you have a backup (like with Apple Time Machine) you cannot go back to version 1.8.x.

All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.5.7 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7

Very many thx for all the speedy help.

Will revert to a Time Machine back up as thousands of pics have disappeared with the Affinity upgrade. Will defer upgrade to1.9!

Upgrading an Affinity application would not delete any pictures from your disk.
