License info location

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I've just upgraded the hard drive in my Mac. After restoring everything from the backup I've a feeling a few things didn't copy over correctly.

On issue - affinity photo is prompting me for a license key. While I look for the bit of paper with the key on (it was a gift, so I don't have the email), is there a file or directory I can look for on the backup drive and copy over manually?

Thanks

Paul

Maybe I'm being silly - but I can only see an order number, not a product key...

Does it say it was an order for Affinity Photo? Or for something else, like the Workbook?

Are you sure that you got Affinity Photo from Serif, and not from the Mac App Store? Perhaps look at your account there?

Thanks. But as it was a gift and not something I purchased myself, I don't have anything in my orders...

That's because they gifted it incorrectly and it's registered to them.

They should have contacted Serif by email and purchased a redemption code, and then sent that to you. Then you could have done the purchase and it would be registered to you.

Either way, it's nice to have the gift, but technically the way they did it violates the licensing terms (though I'm sure Serif won't make any trouble about that :) )
