Petar Petrenko Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 Hi, it would be very usefull if you add "Non-Breaking Word" in "Text > Insert > Spaces and Tabs" to set a word that must not be broken. It is good practice for brends, product names, and so on. walt.farrell Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 The function already exists in a slightly different way, Petar. If you insert a Soft Hyphen (Text > Insert > Dashes and Hyphens > Soft Hyphen (Ctrl+Shift+- by default on Windows)) at the beginning of a word then automatic hyphenation will not break that word. Alternatively, you can select the word, then use the Character panel or a Character Text Style to assign the "No Break" attribute. Engineering_text Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Non-breaking word list would be a nice feature. Then I wouldn't have to remember keystrokes or go through menus for each instance of the same units of measure with a "/" such as N/m² or lbm/in³ where hyphenation breaks at the "/". It would be better to post that as a new topic in the V2 Feedback section. It may get lost here, tagged on to this old topic. MikeTO Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 Most apps don't have a non-breaking word list feature but instead have a feature to not hyphenate capitalized words. That would solve the problem more easily for proper nouns such as product and brand names, city names, and people's names.
