danielkhatton
Hi all, I'm a complete noob to Designer so was looking to pick your brains as to how I would go about recreating the attached logo? Any tips or ideas would be gratefully appreciated.
GarryP
Welcome to the forums @danielkhatton The easiest way, in this specific instance, would be to make some differently-sized black Rectangles and place them over a white Donut shape. They will be other fancier ways, and better ways if you don’t have the black background, but it’s quick and simple. danielkhatton
danielkhatton
Thanks @GarryP! Ideally, I'd just like to create a vector with a transparent background so I can overlay elsewhere. Presumably the same technique would work for that?
prophet
I'd make a bunch of white rectangles and clip them with the donut.

Yes of course, do as GarryP said, it's an easy way to get that result. screencast_logo.mp4 Afterwards fill the resulting curve with whatever color you like and use a background of your choice, in case you need a background at all. Ray S.
Hi danielkhatton, 1. create the donaut-shape 2. create the rectangle and place them 3. select all the retangles and go to Layers/Geometry/add, this should create a Curve-layer with all the rectangles in it 4. select the curves and the donut and go to Layers/Geometry/subtract 5. Viola or watch the video of v_kyr who has been a little faster.
