Mike Johnson
Hi. I am not getting an automatic notification when fonts are missing when I open a document. Am I missing something in preferences somewhere? Thanks, Mike
Alfred
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Mike. 1. Are you using Affinity Publisher or one of the other Affinity apps? 2. Are you opening an Affinity document or a PDF file? 3. What is your operating system? 4. What are the missing fonts? Mike Johnson
Hi Alfred. I'm using Publisher and opening a Publisher file. Running Windows 10. There are a number of missing fonts, which I think originated from CorelDraw! I can install them so it's not a problem. They do appear in the list of missing fonts in preflight and in the Character panel but it means I have to check that every time I open a file, just in case. I have seen from other posts that a notification opens up when a file is opened which has missing fonts, but I don't get that so I'm wondering if I've got a setting turned off somewhere. It should show up top-right hand side of the screen as you open the file, but it is not persistent and disappears quickly. Easy to miss on a large screen Are you not getting that? Mike Johnson
Haha! Thanks for that tip. I do get that but, as you say, it's easy to miss on my big screen. Maybe it should be open for longer or made so that you have to close it. After all, it is quite an important bit of information. Many thanks for your help with this. Dan C
@Mike Johnson Unfortunately you can't change the period for this notification to remain on screen, however you can use Document > Font Manager at any time in Publisher to check which fonts are and aren't available in your document
