catlover
I’ll be buying an iPad ( the normal one, not the Pro version) and am thinking of getting the ADes. iPad application in addition to my desktop app. Looked at the system requirements on the Aff.site, but could not find any minimum requirements for the “harddisk”. So, in other words, would 32Gb be adequate or would i need the 128Gb at considerable more cost ? Any advice is welcome, thanks ! Stay safe ! Alfred
32GB is more than adequate. If you find after a while that you need to free up space for your projects, you can AirDrop the old ones to your Mac or upload them to iCloud. The 7th generation iPad has 3 GB of RAM. My iPad Air 2 has only 2 GB, but AD works fine for me. (APh can struggle with panoramas, and sometimes the more complex sample files fail to load.) catlover
Thanks, Alfred. Just one additional question : on my present ipad i’ve got 24Gb left over of 32Gb. I would like to keep most of the present apps. So, that leaves 24Gb for ADes. Would that give me enough playroom, you think? CL
NotMyFault
From my view, 32GB was too little even for an iPhone 3 years ago. Depending on the number of Apps and documents, you will quickly become out of disk space. Offloading documents is tedious and time consuming. When staying at home with good WIFI, this might work. But while travelling with expensive mobile network it felt like a nightmare for me. Running >90% disk usage may degrade your performance, too. Another topic is RAM. On my iPad 2017 (2 GB RAM) Affinity Photo and other Apps crash often, even with 128 GB storage & lots of free space. To sum up: at least 128 GB memory, and a model with 3 GB RAM.
