Thank you so much Old Bruce! I thought I had found a first bug in Affinity Photo! It works indeed. It seems so simple now that you have shown the solution. Thank you!

Windows 10 - Version

I have frequent problems reading jpg files with transparency. The first attached file is one example of such a transparent jpg, the second attached file is a screen capture of what I get when I open the image. I can provide other sample files if required.

When did the jpg format start supporting transparency?

Affinity Photo ; Affinity Photo Beta; Win10 Home Version:1903, Build: 18362.207: Intel Core i7-4770, 3.90GHz, 32GB Ram, Nvidia GTX 645, 3-Internal HDD (1 Crucial MX5000 1TB, 1-Crucial MX5000 500GB, 1-WD 1 TB), 4 External HDD

To be honest, I don't know. It just appears that I sometimes receive such files from publishers, without knowing how they are made in the first place. I personally use PNG files when I need to build transparent pictures.
