bigevil Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Love this app and the potential and also can't say enough about the Dev team and support who are so dedicated. I'm a simpleton, a novice so I can't speak to the other features on the roadmap but it's killing me not being able to simple select and drag/drop a photo(and or the selected layers) from one document into another. Additionally doing so by grabbing the title bar would be incredible. Lastly, the shortcut really should be option + intend of cmd. This is the default behavior for OS X and nearly all other apps. Thanks!! Quote
Staff MEB Posted August 31, 2015 Staff Posted August 31, 2015 Hi bigevil, Thanks for your words ^_^ Glad to know you're enjoying the apps. Welcome to Affinity Forums! Currently you can drag layers from one document to another in Separated Mode only (Window ▸ Separated Mode). I agree it would also be great to copy layers by releasing them over the other document's tab in regular mode. The shortcuts are more complicated. We already changed them a couple times to fit Apple OS X behaviour, other apps (Adobe) and Affinity particular features. One way or another it never pleases everyone. Fortunately there's now Customisable Shortcuts (introduced in the latest Beta - pinned at the top of the respective app section) so everyone can choose whatever they want. Stephen_H Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I know we get used to drag and drop, but copy and paste also works. evtonic3 1 Quote
anon1 Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Yes you can use cmd + c and cmd + v Just make shure to select/ copy the actual layer and not it's name :) Just to add 2cent: In PS one can shift + drag a layer to another document in separated mode Quote
VIPStephan Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I’m not sure whether this thread is considered resolved (and this feature is going to be implemented), I just want to add that it would be very nice to be able to drag objects from one window into another (yes, in separated mode). Quote
