PJSTATS10
I just got Affinity to replace Photoshop and I'm big into graphic design. So, I like to download a lot of fonts and then upload them to figure out which one I like best. But I don't understand how to correctly do that on Affinity of if its even possible??? Bobaffinity
Go to fontbook in your operating system and download the fonts you want there. They will automatically show up in Affinity programs (and all other programs on your computer).
Staff MEB Posted August 27, 2015 Staff Share Posted August 27, 2015 Hello PJSTATS10, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) All fonts are managed by the Operative System trough an application called Font Book. After installing them using Font Book they become available for all applications installed on your computer, including Affinity Designer/Photo. Here's Apple's instructions on how to use Font Book to install/manage fonts. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Mediafuel
Hello. Where do designers go online to get their fonts, either paid or free? Do you have preferred sites or vendors? Madame
I use dafont.com. I have to test them to make sure they can type my "spesial letters". VIPStephan
Where do designers go online to get their fonts, either paid or free? Do you have preferred sites or vendors? There are a lot of foundries/sites nowadays, with the web font craze. Popular free sources (that feature professional fonts) are Google Fonts and FontSquirrel. For paid fonts there are Fontspring, Monotype’s fonts.com, MyFonts, Fonthaus, FontFont, Fontbureau, and Adobe’s subscription service Typekit. This list is probably not exhaustive. On some of these sites you might be able to click a designer/foundry name and get a link to the designer’s/foundry’s own website (e. g. Hoefler & Co. (formerly Hoefler & Frere-Jones) where they might sell their own fonts themselves (without any of those “publishers” (if you may call it that)).
