WildRoses
After my last update, the center red and green snap guide lines are missing. I can't snap to center in either direction. Snap is on. Toggled on and off. Makes no difference.
AlainP
Make sure "Snapping" is on (the magnet at the top) and it should work. walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, WildRoses. In addition to having Snapping enabled, you need to have the right Snapping options set. Do you have Snap to Spreads and its suboption Snap to Spread Midpoints enabled? WildRoses
Thank you for your response. As I mentioned in my post, Snap is on. I will check Snap to Spread Midpoints enabled and Snap to Spreads on. Thank you Walt. Update: I did have those on. Does Lock Guides affect this setting? walt.farrell
No, Lock Guides does not affect it. I'm not sure what's going on. WildRoses
Thank you Walt. I'll contact support. It seems like a glitch to me. It definitely isn't as simple as having all the snap settings on and correct. Take care!

This is the preferred way to contact them. It just takes awhile for them to respond given workload, business hours, etc. Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.
Staff stokerg Posted September 21, 2020 Staff Share Posted September 21, 2020 Hi @WildRoses Can you post a screenshot of your Snapping Options? I've tested this on our Windows test machine and this is working fine, so i don't think it's related to the update.

WildRoses
When I toggled "Lock Guides" on it works, but it doesn't have the same bold red and green lines as it did before and it doesn't snap easily into place either. Ken Hjulstrom
I know that this is an old thread, but I found it because I ran into the same problem in Publisher 1.10.5. From my experiments, it seems that getting the green and red center alignment indicators is controlled by turning on "Snap to object bounding boxes" as well as the subordinate "Include bounding box mid points". Strangely, I wasn't able to get the red and green lines to appear until I unchecked ALL of the other snapping boxes (except for the "Enable snapping" one at the top. After I got this working, I was then able to check the "Snap to spread" and "Snap to margin" options, as well as the subordinate "Include spread mid points" and "Include margin midpoints", which were previously checked before I unchecked everything. I'm guessing that it's possible that the order in which the snapping boxes are checked might affect the order in which the criteria for snapping are evaluated, since it appears that the "Screen tolerance" value might prevent the red and green lines from appearing if there other higher-priority snapping candidates are activated before the dragged object is able to be center-aligned. Hope this helps.
