Staff Chris B Posted June 28, 2020 Staff Share Posted June 28, 2020 Hey AiDon, Apologies for not responding to the linked thread. We are having issues accessing the FIle Request section of Dropbox. I have added it as a priority to my list. AiDon 1 How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
AiDon
AS UPDATED on the other thread ... Yes, this is still happening but it seems to be an issue with the monitor in use or the ICC Profile used by that monitor as I have a internal monitor using the IGPU (Intel HD630) set to sRGB IEC61966-2.1and a external monitor where the ICC profile being used is S24R35x.icm (Samsung). If I change that external monitor to sRGB IEC61966-2.1 the crash still happens. Windows setting is Extend. If I reset the settings and change the renderer to the iGPU and open on either monitor there is NO crash, the performance settings are: So the question is is the issue because of the renderer or the monitor or the compressed RAW? Also I noticed that when using the GTX1050 as the renderer the application interface colors are a little off. AiDon
So, in summary, if I use the internal GPU as a renderer on either monitor the crash doesn't happen ... if I use the high-performance GPU as the renderer then the crash occurs. Driver is: PaulAffinity 1 Both PC’s Win 11 x64 System with Intuos Pen & Touch PC1 ASUS ROG Strix - AMD Ryzen 9 6900X CPU @ 3.3GHz. 32GB RAM- GPU 1: AMD Radeon integrated. Staff Chris B Posted July 14, 2020 Staff Share Posted July 14, 2020 I cannot say I've seen a crash like this related to the Renderer before. We've seen issues like crashing whilst stitching a panorama with the dedicated GPU but not from developing images, as far as I know. Can you see if you have any crash reports please? They can be found in: %AppData%\Affinity\Photo\1.0\CrashReports or %AppData%\Affinity\Photo\1.0 (Store)\CrashReports I'd really like to get to the bottom of this one. AiDon
Hi Chris, I have attached crash reports both from the PRD and Beta versions; - AiDon Crash Reports from 0627 Beta.zip - AiDon Crash Reports from 0627 Prd.zip You right insofar as it is unusual but I am sure it isn't the uncompressed RAW from Sony as it will happen with CR3, CR3 and Sony compressed. I have seen some inconsistencies when 3 images are selected from the File-> Open dialog at the same time, where the application sometimes reports opening 1 document or 2 documents using the GTX1050 but when using the iGPU (HD630) it always reports opening 3 documents. Staff Chris B Posted August 4, 2020 Staff Share Posted August 4, 2020 Hi AiDon, That crash is coming from the Nvidia driver. We've seen a few reports from both the Game Ready drivers as well as the Studio drivers. Some people are saying the latest version is crashing but some older drivers are not. Any chance you can try a driver from a few months ago (if you can find any for that card). Staff Chris B Posted August 4, 2020 Staff Share Posted August 4, 2020 Apparently the 442.74 driver is stable can you see if that works with your 1050? How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
AiDon
1 hour ago, Chris B said: Apparently the 442.74 driver is stable can you see if that works with your 1050? Hi Chris, Thanks yes that driver works perfectly well ... but, there must be an issue in Affinity also because it only affects Sony RAW with the later drivers. Canon RAW and Fuji RAW are not affected along with TIF also. AiDon
Please note that the crash happens with the latest drivers also, v456.38, both Studio and Game. I still think there is an issue with AP as when opening multiple images the status on the top right shows "Loading 1 document" whereas if you use an alternate renderer it shows the correct number of images being opened: Both PC’s Win 11 x64 System with Intuos Pen & Touch PC1 ASUS ROG Strix - AMD Ryzen 9 6900X CPU @ 3.3GHz. 32GB RAM- GPU 1: AMD Radeon integrated.
