Danielcely Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 I was doing a basic high frequency editing on a photo, after a while of using a combination of the clone stamp and the healing brush, with just two additional pixel layers ( for a total of 5 layers) affinity froze, it won't quit or do anything at all. I'm working on a Windows laptop and I only have that one file open, the laptop itself continues working normally and when checking the task manager there is nothing unusual, with affinity using less than 5% of my cpu, but still won't do a thing. Any ideas? If I force quit, will affinity be able to save my file? Quote
PeteMacca Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 Did the freeze happen when you moved a layer? If so..., it's a known bug. Same thing happened to me, and others. Get the beta to fix the problem (it seems quite stable): https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/34-photo-beta-on-windows/ Quote
Staff Chris B Posted June 22, 2020 Staff Posted June 22, 2020 Can you reproduce this @Danielcely? Welcome to the Affinity Forums. If there's any additional info you can provide that would be great. What happened to your file when you force quit? The auto-save interval is on at 300 seconds by default so I would hope some of the work was salvaged. Danielcely Posted June 25, 2020 Author Posted June 25, 2020 Hi Chris, I'm not sure if this is a known bug, but I realized that it consistenly freezes when hitting the keyboard command "I" for the color picker. It has happened several times, It's ok if I select the tool with the cursor, but using the keyboard command, it just kills it, I'e managed to work around it though. Quote
Staff Chris B Posted June 26, 2020 Staff Posted June 26, 2020 You haven't accidentally mapped another key to "I" have you? Wonder if that's causing a conflict? Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
Danielcely Posted June 27, 2020 Author Posted June 27, 2020 Nope, I'm new to the software, I haven't customised a thing. Quote
Staff Chris B Posted July 1, 2020 Staff Posted July 1, 2020 If I cannot reproduce it, we will ideally need a dump file from you when Affinity has frozen/locked up. If you can get a quick recording too that might help. So sorry for the trouble. Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
