markw Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 This is nothing to do with the apps as such, but dose anyone have any insight as to why there are no thumbnails showing for me on any of the Affinity Spotlight pages when using my browser of choice Firefox 77.0.1? Safari on the other hand has no problems with displaying the thumbnails. Wosven Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 Hi, The images usually load when you progress reading the page. But if you open the page while not having any connexion (like opening a tab for reading later, like I do before entering the subway), it's possible they don't/didn't load at all, and you need to refresh the page if possible. markw Posted June 12, 2020 Author Posted June 12, 2020 Thank’s for the thoughts there Wovsen🙂 Would that it was as simple as that! But no, no matter what I do on the Spotlight pages nor however many times I refresh them, still the thumbnails don’t want to show themselves? Are you using Firefox on a Mac? R C-R Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 For what very little it is worth, I can open https://affinityspotlight.com/ using Firefox version 77.0.1 on my iMac, & after a short delay the Staff Picks & other sections below it load as I scroll down that web page. Just guessing but I think you probably have something in Firefox set that blocks loading of the thumbnails. I have no idea what it might be because I rarely use any browser besides Safari. markw Posted June 13, 2020 Author Posted June 13, 2020 Thank you for the input everyone, much appreciated😎 After digging through my Firefox add-ons I found the culprit! I have Privacy Badger, a tracker blocker, which for some reason this week has taken a dislike to Spotlight’s page thumbnails. I am sure this is an error by PB and not Serif trying to follow us all! Wosven Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 Usually, some privacy/blocker plug-in can block access to remote images loaded from different sites than the main URL, since it's a way to track us. I use different Firefox versions on differents Windows and Android devices, with plugin like Privacy badger and UBlock Origin. You can disable them on trusted sites or the ones you accept to help displaying adds, for example. markw 1 Quote
