Art1 Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 Hello! I am concerned about this issue. Can I make it so that when I open the document (PDF, JPG, TIFF, etc.), the units of measurement were configured in millimeters? I work in a printing house, and every time I have to go into the settings and change the unit of measure, because the pixels are initially set. a video with a problem is available on the link: http://skrinshoter.ru/v/010520/iiKHIW12 Quote
walt.farrell Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 No, there is no option to set a default unit of measure. However, depending on your configuration, there may be an easier method than going into Document settings. If you have the Rulers showing (View > Show Rulers) then you can right-click on the unit of measure at their intersection, and change it there. Or, if you select the Zoom tool, you can change the units in the Context Toolbar. claidheamdanns Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Why, oh why, is there no way to set a default unit of measure? This seems so basic. I don't want to have change to Imperial on every single document. I work in the US, where we use Imperial for everything in print (unless we are sending the ducument to a foreign country). And no, I don't have any interest into getting into a discussion of which is better. I just want to be able to set it for what we use, and have it stay that way. Quote

The unit used in a document is stored on a per document basis, so there is no default as such. For new documents, you can create your own presets, using any unit type you want, but you would have to create different presets for different document sizes. I'm talking about starting new documents. All new documents started in mm when I first wrote my question. It looks like that's been fixed now. Quote

Yes, now you can, but not when I wrote my question. It's fixed now. Quote
