pomme27
I am using copy-and-paste to import a large amount of text (80,000 words) into Affinity Publisher. The source text, formatted as Arial 12, comes from a PDF. I need to change the font to Verdana 9. The source text contains a lot of text in italics and bold. Within Affinity Publisher, if I apply Verdana 9 to the text, the stroke changes to "regular", and I lose all the italic and bold formatting. I hope to avoid having to go thru all the text, changing the regular stroke back to italics or bold where needed. Is there a way to apply a new font family to text (in this case, Verdana) and a new font size, without changing the existing stroke? The attached image might help to clarify my question. Thx. walt.farrell
You could try using Find/Replace. In the Find and Replace studio panel, click the cog to the right of the Find field, and choose Format. Then specify Arial in the in the Font section. Then, click the cog to the right of the Replace field, and again choose Format. This time, specify Verdana as the font and 9pt as the font size. Click Find. Then click Replace or Replace All. (Save before you do this, so you can restore if something goes drastically wrong ) Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.

Catshill
In APub use Edit > Paste - Text retains bold and italics but also creates a new style based on the Imported style formatting From Text Styles tab select hamburger icon to the right of the required style Choose "Apply body text to paragraphs and preserve character formatting"
