Laganama Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Hi, in AfPub 1.8.3 and its resource manager there are sometimes broken thumbnails for some files. I unfortunately can't estimate any difference betwen files with good thumbnails and bad thumbnails. There was also some weird status for the first file (00_titulka.afphoto). Manager showed dpi -1, but it had 300. And I could not update the file using the Update button. It was still marked as Modified without changes. When I deleted this file from my AfPub book and placed it again, the probleme disapeared. Quote Affinity Suite 2.5.7 | Mac mini M4 Pro, 24GB, macOS Sequoia 15.2
Laganama Posted April 8, 2020 Author Posted April 8, 2020 I realised, that updating of the linked file is not working, when the file is placed in rectangle defined in master page and the master for particular spread is locked. When I unlock the master layer, than the linked file is updated corectly. FYI – the orange bar indicating editing of master elements disapear sometime. See my screenshot. The orange bar is invisible, but it is still there (in white colour). Quote Affinity Suite 2.5.7 | Mac mini M4 Pro, 24GB, macOS Sequoia 15.2

Do you experience these update issues in all your .afpup documents? To me it updates fine, in particular also if ... ... the master layer on the document page is locked with the lock-icon ... the master layer on the document page is *not* detached ... the image is placed on the document page but inside a picture frame of the master page ... the image is placed on the master page (without extra frame object) Also it works fine regardless of my setting in application preferences > general > auto-update resources. Means if I have ticked the option then the auto-update happens without the need to select the image or master layer at all. So, if currently unticked, may be it helps at least as a workaround to activate this feature: In my trials I used a JPG and did not change it inside APub but externally. Could it make a difference for you if you edit the linked item in APh, instead within APub? Also, to proof if only this specific document is affected you could test the updating with a different, new .afpub. Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
Staff Jon P Posted May 12, 2020 Staff Posted May 12, 2020 The issue with the DPI showing incorrectly should be fixed in the most recent beta (thanks for the report!) Quote Serif Europe Ltd. - www.serif.com
