markw Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 In the past the beta apps have only taken a minute or two to download but now are taking about 5 hours! Any one else noticed this? Everything else I do on my internet connection is still as fast as ever. Mark Ingram Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 The files are hosted on Amazon's S3 infrastructure. The files are physically located in East Virginia, USA (we don't use CloudFront to push them out to edge locations), so your ISP may be having some issues with that connection, depending on where in the world you are. GarryP Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 You could always place an order for it on floppy disks. You would only need 400 or so. Just had a look at an old price list I have from 1985 (A.C. Interactive, Warwickshire) and with 10 Maxell 3.5” double-sided disks at only £60 a box the disks alone would be a very reasonable £2,400. Ahh, nostalgia. markw and Aammppaa 2 Quote
