I don't see how to save my gradient as a swatch..I have a shape with a certain custom gradient and I'd like to apply to other shapes, without having to recreate the gradient by guess 'n' by gosh.

Is there a way to do what I'd like to do?

2 ways.

Either copy the object which already has the gradient, and then Edit > Paste Style to the object that you want to have the same gradient.

Or, save the gradient in the Swatches Panel…

First part of this GIF shows saving a gradient to a palette in the Swatch Panel.
