Marking Text over 2 or more columns not possible since 1.8

i just wanted to mark some text over 2 columns in my layout (newspaper).

The Problem is: If i have zoomed in, so that i see the bottom of column 1 and do NOT see the top of column 2, i am not able to mark a text of, say the last two rows in column 1 and the first two rows in column 2.
What is gone missing is the scrolling of the zoomed page, if i move the corsor/mouse to the top ore bottom of the page during marking.

Anyone else experience this (on Windows)?

Yes, experienced the same, but I have a  different approach, because scrolling up takes too long in my opinion. I use the Navigator panel to move to bottom left corner of column 1, place the cursor where the begin of the selection should be. Use the Navigator to get to top of column 2. Hold the SHIFT key while placing the cursor at the end of the text I want to select.

We have made fixes/improvements to this area (Page no longer scrolls when dragging a text selection) of the program in the latest release.

The fixes and how to update are described in these forum posts.

We would appreciate you checking that this issue has now been resolved for you.
