Mandu Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 The link to the effect in question is here: Can this be done in Affinity software? Quote
firstdefence Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 By the look of it they are creating a multi-coloured background and then settings a mask to hide the background and unmasking it with a brush on the mask. So to answer your question yes this can be done in Affinity very close to the effect shown. GarryP Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 To help you get started, try loading this image as an Image Brush and do some experimenting with the Paint Brush Tool. It won’t get you a perfect reproduction of the image in the video but you should get some ideas. I’ve attached a sample that uses it, and various other features of Photo, but Designer should be able to handle this sort of thing too. Mandu, R C-R and Alfred 3 Quote
Mandu Posted March 9, 2020 Author Posted March 9, 2020 @GarryP Thank you so much for this. I really had no idea about Image Brushes hence my question. What you have accomplished there is definitely something I can use on my projects. Thank you again. Quote
GarryP Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 You’re welcome. If you are using a brush created with the image I posted you may need to make sure that the “Spacing” setting is very low (1%) and you might want to change the “Hardness” to something like 60%. Also, to get a smooth curve, you might find it useful to switch the “Stabilizer” on when using the Paint Brush Tool. Mandu 1 Quote
