PaulEC Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 Every time I go to open a new document in Photo it defaults to "Web". Publisher and Designer seem to default to my last used selection (always "Print"). I would have thought that the default behaviour should be to open the last used tab! Staff Chris B Posted March 2, 2020 Staff Posted March 2, 2020 Hey PaulEC, We decided to make the last tab the one remembered as opposed to forcing a default. This change should be available in a future update. This change is available in the beta - Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
PaulEC Posted March 2, 2020 Author Posted March 2, 2020 Sorry, just checked again. All three apps seem to have a default for the "new document". None of them remember the last new document I opened. In AP it always defaults to a web page. The link you gave says " New document panel - saves settings between uses" but that's the problem - none of the apps save the settings, they just go back to the same defaults. By the way, I'm on Windows 10 using the latest release versions (1.8). I've tried resetting on start up, but it makes no difference. The current behaviour is a bit of a nuisance, as I nearly always want to open an A4 portrait size page. But now, rather than just using Ctrl+N then enter, I have to keep changing the tab from "web" to "print"and then select a preset size every time I open the app. It was much easier before! To be honest, what with this and other problems, especially with "expand stroke", I think I might just get rid of 1.8 and reinstall 1.7. Chris, it remembers which tab I last used, whilst AP remains open. However once I close AP, the next time I start it again, the New Document dialog is back on the Web tab. If custom presets have been saved, I would prefer it to default to opening on My Presets tab, but otherwise it needs to remember the last tab used in a non volatile way. Staff Chris B Posted March 3, 2020 Staff Posted March 3, 2020 I forgot to include the Windows link yesterday—apologies. I've compared macOS to Windows and macOS does remember after restarting the app but Windows does not so this will need fixing.
