NIK Collection 2.5 should be recognised by Affinity Photo 1.8.0 - unfortunately it doesn't.

As the MAC users reported that this isuue is fixed in version 1.8.1 I'm wondering why no Windows 1.8.1 version is provided?

Hi,

I got NIK Collection working 😀

But for my surpise not all NIK plugins are `knwon`by Affinity Photo (only two - Silver FX Pro isn't).

I've to allow `Unknown Plugins` in order to get Silver FX working - I hope this will be fixed in one of the minor release versions.

They are still not compatible.  Nik Plugins work as smart objects when used by PS.  And can be re-edited again.  Not able to do that with Affinity Photo despite AP claiming to be able to import PS smart objects..  Changes are permanent and control points are lost when it comes back to AP and can not be used again.

If you wish to be able to reopen a previously-saved APh image and see/review/change any of the previous edits you need to ensure you choose the option to "Save History with Document" whenever you save the file.  Then, when the file is re-opened the History panel will be populated so allowing you to access it.

Note the bolded text; this works only for APh images.

I thinking that you are asking a lot from Affinity. Decoding and translating Photoshop Smart Objects for regular PS commands must have been a major effort. To maintain the status of a plugin would require knowledge of the internal working of the plugin. Not impossible, but be glad of what Affinity has achieved so far. Maybe in 1.9?
