Dazzler Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 So I'm testing out the new version (1.8.0.585) on PC WIN10, and just running through the things in the what's new section of the help. It mentions I can jump through a curve's nodes with the square bracket keys but that doesn't seem to be working for me. I'm on the node tool, and I can see a node selected on my curve, but pressing the sqaure brakcet keys does nothing at all. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? or is this functionality missing? Quote
GarryP Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 The Square Bracket keys don’t seem to do anything for me either under similar circumstances (assuming that I understand what “Jump through a curve's nodes with square bracket keys” means). I’ve quickly scanned the text in the Help and can’t find any reference to this other than in the New Features / All Features page. Quote
Dan C Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Hi Dazzler Thanks for your report! I can see that unfortunately the keyboard shortcut for these actions has not been set correctly for the release version, meaning this function is currently unmapped - hence nothing happens when using the square brackets. I'm getting this logged as a bug with our developers now, in the meantime if you open Preferences>Keyboard Shortcuts and change the second drop-down menu to Node Tool you can set these shortcuts manually. You should then find you're able to cycle through nodes as expected. My apologies for any inconveniences caused! GarryP, Aammppaa, Dazzler and 1 other 2 2 Quote
Dazzler Posted February 26, 2020 Author Posted February 26, 2020 Great, thanks Dan. It wasn't really an issue as such, I'm just playing around, but I can see that could be a really useful thing where you have lots of nodes all in a tight spot. I've mapped my keys manually as you said - works like a charm. Dan C 1 Quote
Staff Patrick Connor Posted March 15, 2020 Staff Posted March 15, 2020 We have made fixes/improvements to this area (Node Tool "Cycle Selection" Keyboard Shortcut is not set) of the program in the latest customer beta. If you would like to try these changes the beta software is available in the forum posts listed below. The latest beta builds are downloadable from links at the top of each of these beta forum posts. Affinity Photo 1.8.1.611 for Windows Affinity Designer 1.8.1.611 for Windows Affinity Publisher 1.8.2.619 for Windows These betas install parallel, next to the release version (they do not overwrite your release) and so the fixes can be tried in the beta without affecting your normal workflow in the release version. Once these programs have been through a full beta process the change will be released in a future free 1.8.1/1.8.2 update/patch to all customers.
