If you have purchased the wrong app (from the Affinity Store) you can get a refund (with 14 days) and purchase the correct app. For purchases from the Mac App Store, please see Apple's return procedures. Do the apps work together in the same window ? or would I have to get AP and then save my image, open it in photo make a flood select, save it, then re-open in AD ? If you have both Photo and Designer, and are currently in Designer, you can use File > Edit in Photo to close the document in Designer and transfer it to Photo. If you need to get back to Designer, you can use File > Edit in Designer from Photo. That will close it in Photo and transfer it back to Designer.
