tersmuse Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 I need to do a macOS clean install. I have all Affinity Apps, 2x AppStore and 1x macOS. My question, do I have to deactivate the Apps so that I can reinstall them afterwards? Quote
Fixx Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 I do not think there is any way to deactivate them. If you format your system drive just restore from Timemachine or redownload from Mac App Store. I guess you can reinstall also from Affinity store if you have that version, you should be able to log on to your account and access installer and serial number. Quote
h_d Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 After your clean install, you'll need to sign back in to the App Store with the same Apple ID you used to purchase the apps. You can then reinstall them: no need to deactivate first. Similarly, if you sign in to the Affinity Store using the account you used to buy the app (most probably NOT the same id you use to log in to this forum), you can follow the links through My Account to Downloads and Product Keys to find the original product key for your purchase. No, I just reformatted the HD then installed away from the Mac App Store (2) and the Affinity/Serif website (1) {and a bunch of other websites for everything else} for a lovely long weekend. Thanks for reminding me that I have too much stuff on here and should do so again soon. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
tersmuse Posted February 27, 2020 Author Posted February 27, 2020 My experience after a macOS clean install and a new installation of the Affinity Apps: No problems, the applications must not be deactivated. Quote
