EvgenyI Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 missing the brush cursor in the Affinity Photo app for iPad, now when I change the brush size I don’t see the round cursor, how can I fix this? Quote
Staff Gabe Posted January 6, 2020 Staff Posted January 6, 2020 Hi @EvgenyI, Can you attach a screen recording of your workflow? Quote
sandrock001 Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Hi, I have a similar issue as well. I use Affinity Photo on the iPad with an Apple Pencil. I can see the cursor only when I resize a brush. Otherwise, I do not see it which makes it harder to brush. I am new to this software. Is it really like this? Quote

SeniorCoconut Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 Second this, it’s very important to see brush cursor and size while painting or editing photos, procreate ps and any other app does this well. Can it be implemented in new update? Quote
Cecil Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 It works on my iPad Pro. FullSizeRender.mov Quote Cecil iMac Retina 5K, 27”, 2019. 3.6 GHz Intel Core 9, 40 GB Memory DDR4, Radeon Pro 580X 8 GB, macOS,iPad Pro iPadOS Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection
SeniorCoconut Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 @Cecil it works for me like this too, but i would like to see brush at all times, for a visual reference while painting, especially because i change sizes constantly Quote

I am missing "at all time" implies. I can change brush size without the brush cursor vanishing from screen. SeniorCoconut Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 @Cecil i use apple pencil too. Like in your video, first you choose brush size, little circle indicates that, but then it disappears when you start painting, i would like it to stay even when i am painting, like in photoshop, preferably with shape of brush it self Quote

My circle remains and while painting I can can brush size with finger and circle remains as size changes. Please pst a screen recording if you wish to demonstrate the bug. Be Safe. SeniorCoconut Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 Here it is you can see size, shape and rotation of a brush IMG_0074.MP4 Quote
Cecil Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 Ok, I have Procreate as well and I think this is a Future Request, not a AP iPadOS bug. Eirik Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 Any updates on when this basic feature will be implemented? Renderluz 1 Quote
amsol87 Posted June 16, 2022 Posted June 16, 2022 I would also very much like to know when/if this will happen. I've wanted this feature since I bought my iPad. Renderluz, vietanh.photo and Eirik 3 Quote
vietanh.photo Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 I just signed up to say that this basic feature needs to be implemented. Retouching photos is hell without the cursor. I just bought Affinity and it is kinda useless for me without this feature. Eirik and Renderluz 1 1 Quote
Vancouver Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 I used to recommend Affinity photo when it came out. Switched to photo editing on my iPad and gave it a try recently. It blows my mind that such a basic feature has been omitted, even more when it’s been requests! Blatant disregard for its users. Completely disconnected to try to implement new “advanced” features when something as basic as having the brush size visible prevents the App from being usable on an iPad! It shouldn’t wait until a new version, it should be fixed this week! Quote
Mohsin Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 (edited) This issue is still there in v2. I agree with everyone that this is a very basic requirement. When painting or erasing or using any function that requires a brush, we should be able to see the brush size. Also, it’s softness right as we paint with the brush. Patrick Noone Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 I won't buy v2, or recommend it to any fellow artist, it's like painting with just the brush handle and no hairs, whoever designed it was certainly not an artist. Useless program. Quote
