Garry Gannell Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 I have a multi-payer publisher page. At the back is an aged paper graphic. Next is text. On the same "level - (that is, not overlaying the text) is a photo I have added. This photo has, in affinity photo, had it's edges erased using the erase brush with some jitter to give a bubble like appearance around the edge. Looks perfect in published, but when I print it as a pdf (which I will need to do when printing the entire book), there is a red background showing on the photo. See attachments Any ideas? Quote
firstdefence Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 I wonder if it isn't as transparent as you think. Have you tried checking the area you think is transparent with the colour picker tool and seeing if you get a read-out other than C:0 M:0 Y:0 K:0 obviously turn any layers with colour off first. Garry Gannell Posted December 21, 2019 Author Posted December 21, 2019 Thanks, When I do this I am not getting 0:0:0, but 255:255:255. The thing is, in publisher, there appears to be no color, but when printed as a PFD, it is there. In desperation, I changed the background graphic, and the problem, while still there, is much less pronounced. Quote
firstdefence Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 Ok, so the document is set to RGB hence the 255:255:255 It might be an idea to either ask a mod to look at the doc if you prefer to keep it private or copy that page and it's elements to a new cut down document and upload it for us to look at to get a more definitive answer. shustovcreates Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 @Garry Gannell try using this export setting graphic issue (1).pdf Quote
firstdefence Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 The image isn't as erased as you think, turning off the layers shows distinct edges. Using the erase tool with less hardness after you have initially created your scallop effect would get rid of the pinky red edging. Garry Gannell Posted December 22, 2019 Author Posted December 22, 2019 I am doing the photo edit in photo, but the files I am printing to PDF (not exporting) are from Publisher. Could that be the problem? Quote

Garry Gannell Posted December 22, 2019 Author Posted December 22, 2019 Brilliant! Thank you so much - I didn't realise that I could export to PDF from Publisher, I only thought I could print! Thanks heaps! shustovcreates 1 Quote
