j3rry Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Whenever I try to open a RAW file (ORF) from my Olympus camera ( OMD E-M1 II ) Affinity Photo crashes. Independent from the place I try to open the file, iCloud or direct from a folder on the iPad. Sometimes it will open in the develop persona but it crashes when I try to modify a value. (brightness, contrast or sharpness e.g.) iPad and Affinity Photo are on the latest version, iPad is 6.Gen. 1912_Bodeeichen_0139.ORF Quote 24" iMAC Apple M1 chip, iPad Air 11", MACOS Sonoma & iPadOS, Affinity V2-Universallizenz
Cecil Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 I downloaded your photo and try to open file using Shortcut, Open in Affinity Photo. Immediate crash. j3rry Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 On Desktop all is fine. And other Raw files eg. from my Nikon camera are also fine. Quote 24" iMAC Apple M1 chip, iPad Air 11", MACOS Sonoma & iPadOS, Affinity V2-Universallizenz
Staff Gabe Posted December 9, 2019 Staff Posted December 9, 2019 Hey. What iPad model have you both got? Is it the 3GB ram model? If so, we are aware of this issue. Quote
j3rry Posted December 9, 2019 Author Posted December 9, 2019 Its the MR7J2FD/A , how can I check the RAM size ? Quote 24" iMAC Apple M1 chip, iPad Air 11", MACOS Sonoma & iPadOS, Affinity V2-Universallizenz
Staff Gabe Posted December 9, 2019 Staff Posted December 9, 2019 That's the 6th Gen, with 2gb ram. As weird as it sounds, try to turn your iPad off and back on again and see if that works. Quote
j3rry Posted December 9, 2019 Author Posted December 9, 2019 Thanks Gabe, i tried it and after restart all is fine. But I dont like those bugs... Quote 24" iMAC Apple M1 chip, iPad Air 11", MACOS Sonoma & iPadOS, Affinity V2-Universallizenz
Staff Gabe Posted December 9, 2019 Staff Posted December 9, 2019 I will update the issue on our end. It looks like it's Apple RAW engine failing to recognize the RAW file type, and a re-boot fixes it. Quote
