Linked image :: update command?

Recommended Posts

Usually when working in AfPub with linked images a popup message informs when an image got altered outside AfPub. This appears not to work always, sometimes a changed image dos neither get updated nor creates the popup message. Then I need to open the Resource Manager window and click the "Update" button manually - the context toolbar doesn't show an Update button.

Sometimes I simply use the Replace button of the context toolbar but unfortunately then the placed image size gets changed and its position within a picture frame gets reset.

So I wonder,

– Is there a key shortcut command to update a changed image resource?
– Can I force the Replace button in the context toolbar NOT to alter a placed image size & position within its picture frame for replaced images with same dimensions?

Hi Thomaso,

There is no keyboard sort cut for updating an image I'm afraid.  Your second point should already be happening what happens when you replace an image in a frame? Please could you provide a screen recording demonstrating you replacing an image inside a frame.

Hi @thomaso, for information only - you use the *.afpub file extension, not APu to mark the application.
