Deleting part of a donut by breaking it's curve.

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm fairly new to operating shapes using nodes and curves etc. Though I've run into a bit of trouble.
I'm trying to cut out a piece of a donut without creating a custom shape and just subtracting.

I managed to break the curve for the green triangle, and make it a separate curve that I can now move around and do what I want with, however deleting the red bit is a bit more challenging.
I was wondering if there is a way to remove it, it seems like it should be possible to just connect the two nodes on each side of the circle and removing the remaining curves of the circle. But I haven't succeeded yet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Quite a few of the shapes have modification nodes indicated by red nodes when the respective shape tool is selected.

I... did not know that was possible.

Watch this video tutorial, done with an old version of Designer, to get an idea of some of the things you can do with the shape tools, particularly the Star & Cog (gear) Tools.
