Ushur
Hello! When I click on a layer and then add one or more png files using drag & drop, the newly added layers are always top most. But I want them to be added above the marked layer. Affinity Photo: 1.7.3.481 What is your operating system and version : Windows 8.1 with latest patches What happened for you : Drag & Drop of files not at the choosen layer position Provide a recipe for creating the problem (step-by-step what you did): I marked a layer opened explorer moved 1, 2, x files to affinity photo the files aren't inserted top most, but not at the given position Any unusual hardware (like tablets or external monitors or drives that may affect things) or relevant other applications like font managers or display managers: Two Monitors, Asus 4k and a Gamon 2k Tablet Did this same thing used to work and if so have you changed anything recently? (software or hardware): No, it never worked, even not with previous versions Thanks, Ushur

I think you will find this is by design, rather than a bug, and it is very simple to subsequently drag the new layer to where ever you need it. Incidentally, I think you maybe have a typo in the 4th line of your recipe. It perhaps should be "are inserted" not "aren't inserted" Quote Intel i7-10700 Gen10 CPU, 32GB RAM, Geforce GTX 1660 OC 6GB Windows 10 Pro 22H2, 1x 1TB M.2 NVMe, 1 x 2TB M.2 NVMe. Staff Gabe Posted November 11, 2019 Staff Share Posted November 11, 2019 Hi both I'm afraid this is not a bug. I've moved it to feature request.
Ushur
Sometimes "works by design" is aquivalent to "bug". Microsoft users can tell you about that But thanks for your answers and moving to feature request. 6 hours ago, Greyfox said: Incidentally, I think you maybe have a typo in the 4th line of your recipe. English as a foreign language is tricky when you don't proof-read - mistakes doesn't leap to the eye. So I will take your remediation and try better next time. Pšenda
- select layer in Layers panel, - menu File, Place (Explorer is open automatically), - chose file, Open and click on required position. Image is placed above selected layer. Pšenda
You're welcome :-) If you insert images more often, you can define a shortcut for Place in the Preferences.
