affinity photo version 1.8 won't update on the App store..... logged in and out,.... restarts..... waited some time.... still no update.... will try later......

Should there be a Basic brushes category with just 2 brushes in the Designer Persona? I am almost certain I had more than 2 basic brushes in 1.7.3.

Don't upgrade to this version, it's got a serious bug that makes it unusable. It breaks all the text on everything on windows 10!

hello I post this message to try to find a solution to my problem I apologize if this subject has already been treated in another topic I cannot open an affinity desinger file if it was created with a higher version, my university does not update the software for technical reasons and I cannot open my files from these versions. is there an option in the software to maximize the compatibility? If not, is there any software to edit or delete the version of the version on the file? If not, is there documentation on the .afdesign files in order to manually modify the file with an exadecimal editor like notpad ++? thank you for your help

When having Master A containing a linked image and a Master B containing Master A, when updating the linked image in the document only Master A gets the updated image. Master B keeps the old image. So all masters containing a master with a linked image don't get updated when we reload the changed linked image in the document. See video. only-first-masterpage-updates.mp4

This may not be a bug, but a limitation of the software. I am an architect and use Designer for site analysis graphics, amongst many other uses. The graphics tend to be built up using many layers, each of which has a unique bit of data. I then bring the graphic into publisher and select which layers I want to show. Two things: I have found that if I copy an placed asset and double click to edit the layers, the layer changes will affect the copy and the original. So to avoid this, I place a fresh instance of the graphic for each view. This works fine. Until... If I make a change to the original designer file, the resource manager quite helpfully tells me to update the content in the publisher file. But... every instance of the placed graphic then gets reset to the same layer settings, so I have to go through the whole report, resetting all the layer structures. Is there a way of the placed asset remembering the layer settings? If not, can I please request this as a tweak to the next iteration of Publisher? Many thanks. Loving the software.

I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem, but since the last update both Photo and Affinity have been crashing. I have never had any issue before, but now I dread the "not responding" half way through something. I have sparked it up again this morning and 5 minutes later it is "not responding". I can't wait for the next update because I fear for my sanity. Would it cause a problem with the program if I uploaded a previous version? Many thanks

My AP is crashing almost every time I try to do anything in it. I scrapbook with psd templates and jpg/png elements as well as jpg photos. How can I get some help with this?

Hello, When moving a Publisher file from a PC to a mac, the images linked in documents are noted as 'missing' - I believe this is because the server path appears to be changing... On the mac the path includes the server 'share' name whereas on the PC the server share is noted as a drive letter (Y:\) instead. Firstly, is there a way around this within Publisher? Secondly, if not, is there a way to do bulk updates to linked images? I'd have expected that, when I update one image within a folder, the others with the same general path will also automatically update. However, currently I have to update the each individually. Am I missing something? All thoughts gratefully received! Edward

Dear forum, dear support team, I had upgraded the long path from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 (each update had to be installed for 7, then upgrade to Win8, then install each update, then upgrade to 8.1, then install each update (took 3 days to complete)) As I found out later, everything survived, EVEN the installed applications, but NOT %windir%\installer, where all the setup files are stored, weirdly. I did, however, finally fire up Affinity Designer and got informed that there is an update available. Of course I went and get it (same for Affinity Photo). Next, I did right click on the setup exe, executed that one as Admin and it said right away "upgrade to 1.7.x". - I clicked that button as well, and in the very next dialog it said "an error occured". I had only one choise to click on "exit". Cool. What now? I tried to manually deinstall the product (file system and registry), but no luck. It still claims to be installed. Also right clicking the msi file, contained in the setup exe, didn't bring me any further, as this one can only maintain already installed products, which... it said, is not the case. "Funny" that the Affinity Publisher internal update is less than 25 MB while the Affinity Designer and Photo 1.7.3 updates from the Mac App Store are over 400 MB, each. Does this reflect the actual update size for each application or is due to differences between distribution channels (Affinity Store vs Mac App Store)?
