  1. When manually exporting an artboard, the list in the dropdown does not match the list in the layers panel. The list does not seem to be alphabetical either. Meanwhile, in Persona Export, the list of artboards appears as they do in the layers panel and I think it should also apply to the manual export by arboard list. See my screenshot. A final note is that people arrange artboards logically, and even in the layers panel, artboards usually have a logical order in the user's workflow. This is the most important reason I think the list in the manual export should adhere to the order of the layers panel besides consistency across this area, the layers panel, and the export persona.
  2. Hello! What do you think about enhancing Export Persona? After lots of new tools for UI designers it would be nice to exports this new layouts with pleasure. :) First thing I was thinking of is snapping. Why, when I have such good snapping when I design, I have to zoom and count every pixel, when I try to draw a slice? ;) Second thing is a long shot idea, for your consideration, and with lots of thinking about proper UI for this kind of revolution. I was thinking about something like slices for layer/group. Exporting UI elements is always filled with drawing slices and turning layers off and on. It would be cool to have an option to tell the slice, which layers to save. I can create appropriate groups when I design, if I know that will make my job easier. And it will make it much easier, when I can tell the slice when it has to be exported with background and when as a transparent group of objects. It would be great if you'll think of something like this. :)
  3. Excuse my English. The way I share my files for someone else to edit, from AD to Corel or Illustrator is in PDF format. But when I export to PDF so that another user can work the file, the drawing and the text are rendered. And I'm going crazy. I have a file with an element (a layer with many groups of an AI converted to SVG), I also have a text to curves. Please help me, it is an urgent job for my company where I work. Thank you very much. 4. Version of Affinity Designer is 1.5.2.58 I needed to create a very simple artwork that is large in size (8100mm x 4300mm) and export it to a print-ready PDF. The vendor will use it to die-cut the artwork into 20 different pieces. Certainly easier than for me to create 20 different files and ensure each print out assembles correctly into one art-piece. I tried to export the finished work using PDF for print. It took a few hours but it finally completed. The pdf file was over 200Mb. Tried to open it using Adobe Reader, it shows a blank white page  I have done this several times before with smaller jobs and I did not face any problems or issues. But this is my first try with such a large size. Hope someone can advise if Affinity Designer can handle such a size or if there is something I can do to make this work (vendor waiting for my file :( ). Attached is the affinity file in question. Thanks for your kind attention! David Panel_clouds.afdesign
  5. I'm having an issue when exporting .png assets from Affinity Designer for use in a website. When Chrome (on Windows) displays the .png image, the color does not match the HEX value I've assigned in Affinity designer. Here's a quick example of a square that I made both in Affinity Designer and in Photoshop. Both have a hex value of #252E42. I embedded them both next to each other on a HTML page that also has a background-color of #252E42. I've attached the result. As you can see the rectangle exported from Photoshop is completely invisible, which is exactly what I expect. But the rectangle from Designer is clearly visible. What is going on here? Do I have to change some color profile settings in order to make this work?
  6. Hey AD pals, help here would be greatly appreciated. I have a logo design done on my MacBook with AffinityDesigner 1.5.4 and have it set up as a document on an artboard with both vertical and horizontal Cut and Bleed lines visible on the document in all 3 Personas. The Cut and Bleed lines were done 'by the book' using the menu item 'Guides Manager' and the file has been named and saved. My problem/question: I need to export this artboard showing the Cut and Bleed lines to the sticker printer however when I go into export mode and export it (so far have done .pdf, .jpeg, and .eps), the file described above exports successfully but WITHOUT the Cut and Bleed lines being visible in the exported file. Please advise on where I'm going wrong and/or what step I am missing. Thank you! -Christo
  7. Hi I'm using Affinity Photo mainly, but now I'm trying to do the following: I have a logo in format .eps with a transparent background. To use it for a blog on wordpress.com it needs to be in format .png or .gif (http://bit.ly/2qcmX81). When I open the .eps in AD and export the logo, how can I keep the background transparent? Thank you.
  8. Twice now I've run into an issue where trying to export a png with Affinity Designer results in a posterized reduction of colors, and I cannot find a setting to avoid this. In my current piece, it resulted in obvious banding of the gradients, and the reflected light being lost entirely. However, if I save the file as psd, then open that in Clip Studio Paint and save as png there, I get accurate colors and no banding. The first file is the png as saved from AD, the second is the png from CSP, and the third is the original afd so you can check and see if there's anything weird about it. Brightmoon 8-ball.afdesign Is there something I'm missing on export to prevent this issue, or is it a bug? Also, I've tried copy-pasting layer styles a few times, but it's prone to changing the values on paste--generally about double or half (i.e., 7px gaussian blur becomes 13.8px). Is there a way to prevent that, as well?
  9. Most of the RAW photos I'm editing in develop persona don't need any further changes hence I just want to export them to JPEG However, I have to separately develop them and then export them instead of having an option of straight to export to JPEG Does an export direct to JPEG exist in develop persona? If not, can it be added? Thank you
  10. Hi there, I've really been enjoying Affinity Designer so far but there is one annoying thing that makes me frustrated every time. My problem is when I try to export artboards, my slices either go one pixel larger than the artboard or they are missaligned to the artboard and I end up exporting jpegs with white borders on the left or right. Do you guys have an idea how I can keep the slice aligned to the artboard so that I can get clean exports every time? Thank you !
  11. Hi guys, I am experiencing crashes (Unhandled exception and then "Crash Reporter cannot find an error report to send.") when I try to export my work to PDF (for print). File can be dowloaded from my OneDrive: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aqe__SfYQ9LXhNRC9x8rwSdUZh0HrQ
  12. Hey, May be I am missing it but I have a really huge document that I am slipping in multiple part so you have a one big view, but they are then sliced in smaller views that can be printed more easily. Right now I only see slice export in pic format for the slice. And in the export options, the PDF document option is "everything" only. Is there any way to either add a slice selection in the PDF export or add the PDF format in the slice export tool ? Thanks :)
  13. Hi everyone, i just have a question about pdf filesize. I am in the transition phase from AI to AD and noticed that the exported pdf/x-3 -files from AD are MUCH larger than the ones from AI. For instance: i have a banner in ai - results in a 5 MB file. Now i redesigned the EXACT same banner from scratch in AD, export it as x-3 pdf and get an 50! MB file out of that. The banner incorporates an pretty big .afphoto file (placed in AD). I placed this in AI too (but as .psd) - both are pretty much the same filesize. The only way to get down the filesize of the pdf in AD is to lower the jpg-quality in the extended export options - but this results in the expected quality loss... (and is never getting near the filesize AI does) Am i doing something wrong or is there an obvious reason for that behaviour that i am just missing? Thanks for any enlightenment :-) cpoh
  14. It would be great if there was the ability to Import and Export custom RAW presets, with .ACR presets not being compatible due to the different systems.
  15. Some issues I've been facing on the Export persona in AD (1.5.3.6x public and beta): Slices don't always get the name of the artboard. If you rename the artboard the slice will keep the old name. If you're duplicating artboards this causes an issue where many slices have the same name and they'll be overwritten upon export I have a document with over 10 artboards (each one gets a slice). If I zoom out and select them on the Slices panel I can't tell which one is selected or not. Due to the naming issue above it's really hard to tell which of the artboards is selected since some have the same name and you can't see the selection border. The selection border gets hidden behind the slice blue border. There needs to be a way to completely hide (toggle show/hide) the slices markings In the Layers panel (back in Vector Persona) if you double-click a layer AD will zoom it in to fit the viewport. This would be very, very useful in export persona too, in the Slices panel. Double clicking a slice in the listing would zoom into that slice. Using the Slice tool sometimes selects an existing slice and sometimes it tries to create a new slice over an existing one. The behavior changes depending on zoom level and it's hard to replicate. The Slice Selection Tool selects objects within the artboard instead of the slice Selecting a artboard-slice by its name only works at greater zoom levels (100% or larger) There needs to be actions (buttons or kbd shortcuts) to select all/select none slices Selecting a slice highlights it on the Slices panel listing but does not scroll to it Thanks for reading :)
  16. This is a list of enhancements I would like to suggest for the Export persona in Designer: The selection border around selected slices should be visible at very small zoom levels. Currently it's very hard to tell which slice is selected on zoom levels below 50%. There needs to be a way to completely hide (toggle show/hide) the slices markings (the slice title and its border) Double-clicking a slice in the Slices panel listing would zoom into that slice. In the Layers panel (back in Draw Persona) if you double-click a layer AD will zoom it in to fit the viewport. This would be very, very useful in export persona too, in the Slices panel. The Slice Selection Tool selects objects within the artboard instead of the slice. It is far easier to select an object than to select a slice. Maybe the tool should select slices on click and objects on shift+click or something like that? Its name is misleading. There needs to be actions (buttons or keyboard shortcuts) to select all/select no slices or to check/uncheck the selected slices and invert the selection. In fact, it is confusing that selected slices are not exported, only checked ones are exported. Why not make exporting selection-based? Only selected slices would be exported, no need for checkboxes and confusing selection behavior. Selecting a slice highlights it on the Slices panel listing but does not scroll to it, this would be quite helpful Thanks!
  17. Could the software please remember the last used directory separately for opening and for exporting. A frequent workflow for me is: 1) Open Image 2) Edit Image 3) Export Image (repeat many times) It's a waste of time to have to navigate back and forth between my "originals" and my "export" directory for every photo I edit. Export should remember the last directory I exported to and this should not interfere with remembering the last directory I opened a file from. This is a very simple software change but would save users a lot of time.
  18. HELP! I've tried searching here and couldn't find an answer to my problem. I made a photography template. I figured since I import templates in PSD format I could export it the same way. Well, when I go to export in PSD format, and then reopen, everything that was suppose to be in text is now a pixel layer. I'm making templates for others so I need the text layers to be editable, but they are not when I go to reopen them. Is there something I am missing? How do I keep it a layer in it's text and not pixel when I export psd? Pictures below to show what I'm talking about if it helps. Thanks!
  19. When exporting from the Export Persona, the Windows Explorer folder chooser does not display its content. Is that a setting?
  20. I am presently trying to make the switch to Affinity. After twenty years of working with the competitor's products, I am finding this a little difficult. Please forgive me if I'm putting too many questions under one topic. I am starting to embrace the differences, as much as possible. However, the export function does not appear to be my friend. I am starting to get the gist of it, but I am confused as to why my images dimensions get resized when working with jpegs and tiffs when I export. With the jpegs it appears that no matter what size I am working, it defaults back to 72 dpi and changes the dimensions accordingly. My cmyk tiffs appear to be changing the dpi to 180 with the dimensions shifting as well. Is it supposed to work like that? Also, how is it best to work between Photo and Designer for printing? Do I need to export a tiff or eps to place in Designer or just use the native file? I initially had some trouble with parts of the images going grey when I tried to print a Designer layout with a Photo image. Does this have something to do with the embedded profile? I would really appreciate a video, or some sort of instructions, on best practices to place an image from Photo to add to a Designer layout for printing purposes. Lastly, I am struggling with the gradient tool. Is there anyway to go from a solid color to transparent? I just can't figure that one out. Thank you.
  21. Hello, I'm sure this isn't a popular request but I would like to be able to export the designs with the guides visible, or some way to convert them to paths. This would be really useful when speccing designs to developers showing the padding/margins around objects and so on. Thanks.
  22. Hi, Affinity Designer developers! Product is positioned as a cool tool for UI design (but we spent time and fell into the trap). I used the editor to design the UI of my game. Now I have a problem. https://monosnap.com/file/QWfuKVh1qCUWruBGFMTaUD8QYOkdIJ · I can't think of how to transfer assets to developer (and he can easy work with them as objects) · I can't make simple animations for UI (buttons, animations, progress bar, animation, text) Please, tell me how you solve these problems in your projects. What is your workflow/pipeline with flash developers? Do I have to redraw all with Animate CC?

  24. Hello All, We use both Affinity Designer and Corel Draw X8. On occasion, we need to create fonts, and need to export them to TTF or other formats. Is there a workflow in Designer to create/modify and export true type fonts (or other fonts)? Corel Draw contains bugs that they have never bothered to fix in their font "features". If Affinity has similar font features, this may cause us to drop Corel Draw altogether. Any info on this would be appreciated. Thanks... Mark
  25. This should support import/export of DrawPlus files, especially since DrawPlus was made by the same company. I can't currently open a .dpp file that I can in DrawPlus in any of the Affinity projects to carry them over.
