Hello, When deleting a page, the picture and text frames on other pages veer off the columns they were originally placed in. This was a blank page I'm removing, and adding it back, locks the frames in position within the columns but breaks the text, I believe this has to do with the inner and outer margins that are different. Is there a way to lock all these frames within the columns rather than following the margins or spine when deleting or adding pages? Thanks a lot for your help.

Considering that one day there may be options to filter search queries by layer/ page/ chapter/ text frame/ column, etc., see: It would be neat to have a batch Find and Replace in which you can add multiple queries for finding and replacing something. That way, you could batch replace various pieces of text, characters (e.g. to do clean up for multiple white spaces and break characters) for particular pages in at once. The way I see this is you could add another Find and Replace query by clicking on a "+" button, which will run after the first Find and Replace has run.

I prefer using the 1 column width toolbar, but it comes at the cost of not having a fill & stroke colour widget there. I prefer to have it there, because it gives me a clear indication on first glance. And it stays there regardless of the studios I have opened. It is also the closest to the canvas and since you already glance the tools to know the active tools, it would be the ideal place to add this. Hopefully this will be reconsidered! Also, see the discussion here:

Hi, I just learned about your amazing software today, and I've downloaded the trails and watched your videos in Vimeo. Great stuff! I've been wanting to get out and away from Adobe, so as soon as Publisher is released it will be possible. Anyways, I have a question about creating guides. Is it possible to create guides like the inDesign "Create Guides" feature? Where you can specify how man rows and columns and gutter space?

Publisher 1.7.1.404, Windows 10 Home 1903. When Preview Mode is OFF I can only snap to Column/Row Guides when Only Snap To Visible Objects is switched ON even though the Column/Row Guides are visible. When Preview Mode is ON I cannot snap to Column/Row Guides at all no matter if Only Snap To Visible Objects is ON or OFF. See attached GIF. When Preview Mode is ON I think snapping to Column/Row Guides should be allowed if Snap To Guides is ON and Only Snap To Visible Objects is switched OFF. This would make page layout much easier as there would be less switching back and forth to/from Preview Mode.

Vertical Guides are being created in other artboards,... and i can't move them. Can't change position value. This is a recorrent bug in other tools envolving guides, column, margins.

Windows 10 Home 1809, Publisher 1.7.0.249. When I drag the double-arrow tag at the bottom-left or top-right of a table (I don't know the proper name and can't find it in the Help) it doesn't always produce a new column or row. See the attached GIF where dragging from the tab the first time usually creates a new row/column but after that it only starts to create rows/columns once I've dragged to two row/column heights/widths. Not a major issue, just thought I'd mention it.

Windows 10 Home 1809, Publisher 1.7.0.206. Unfortunately I can't give you a simple sample document that shows the problem as it doesn't always happen but sometimes when I: * have a master page with column guides; * then apply that master to a spread; * then create another master with 'normal' guides; * then apply that new master to the spread - as well as the other one, not replacing - the column guides sometimes: A. go invisible (often) while 'normal' guides are still visible; B. become visible again when I randomly drag the masters in the layout studio (infrequently works as a fix); C. get deleted all together; D. get renumbered to a much higher number, e.g. from 4 columns to 48 columns (only seen that once so far). Again, sorry I can't supply an example document. Hopefully I've given enough info' to start a small investigation.

Windows 10 Home 1809, Publisher 1.7.0.249. Note: This issue also applies to Columns. When I select multiple rows on a table and choose "Delete Row(s)" from the little drop-down arrow menu - on any row - only one row is deleted. However, if I right-click with multiple rows selected and choose "Delete Row(s)" from the contextual menu then the correct number of rows is deleted. I think both methods should do the same thing, which is to delete all of the selected rows, otherwise the "(s)" suffix is confusing. P.S. It would also be nice to be able to insert multiple rows/columns but that's maybe something for separate request.

Good for this first beta version. For paragraph styles it would be more useful to put the leading at the body level, the two go together. It lacks more typographic management with non-breaking thin spaces for characters ;:!? Plan to move the point of origin of the page (point 0) in the page. Add the value of the gutter next to the number of columns in the toolbar. Ability to divide the page structure into columns.

After performing as noted in pages one and two of the attached PDF, the fit columns to data option is performed and the fit to the frequency column is botched. Please refer to the attached PDF. Fit to Column ProblemImage.pdf

I have made a numbers spreadsheet which calculates column widths for creating guides using the guide manager as a short term fix until the feature is implemented. Currently it works for 2-6 columns. I think that should work for most people's uses but it would be fairly trivial to edit to allow for more columns. You have to input some key data for each layout: Page width (crucial info for obvious reasons) Inner margin Outer margin (these three together then calculate the useable width within the margins) Number of columns you require (up to max 6) Gutter width I thought it would be helpful to others so you can download using the link below. Please use and edit it as you wish. calculating columns_to share.numbers Robin

I'm just working my first half an hour with Affinity Designer, but I'm just missing an option to divide floating text into two or more columns. This should be made possible either with combined textframes, paragraph style or textframe options.
