Hi, I own a Mac and a PC and swap between the 2 depending on where I am and the work I'm doing (only work on one device at a time). Can I buy an Affinity Design licence that allows me to use the software on both my devices? I hope I don't have to buy 2 licences therefore costing double the money? Jon -
I have a few questions relating to Macros on both Mac & iOS devices. My first question is also a testimonial to what really won me over to Affinity Photo this week. I was editing a photo taking in a living room on my iPad in Affinity Photo and was trying the macros out and ended up with a photo that now looks like it was taken in a studio. I recreated what I did on the iPad on my mac and turned it into a macro but there's one major issue I have. My macro creates a layer mask of for the people in the photo and this overall macro is one I'd like to reuse however I can't for the life of me figure out how to have it ask to make a selection when ran and would that also work on the iPad? In case that's not clear I'd like to run a macro on either device and if part of that macro requires a selection to be made have it prompt me to make one. Secondly I accidentally imported the same macro in twice and created a duplicate and did not see an easy way to delete the duplicated live macros. I ended up deleting the app and reinstalling but this seems a bit drastic especially as time goes on and with the additional macros we can import now from desktop version would like to see a way to manage these on the iPad. Lastly will there be a way to create macros from the iPad itself in the future? I'm honestly blown away by the ability to create macros and effortlessly sync them to the iPad and I didn't even realize this was possible until this week. While I've owned both Mac & iOS versions of Affinity Photo this is what really caused me to push aside other apps. This is amazing. -
I recently downloaded Affinity Designer. On opening AD one is welcomed with some sample illustrations (Downloadable). I downloaded some illsutrations and modified them a little bit. When I closed the document I was not asked, what to do with the document. Now that I have downloaded a 311 MB illustration, I don't see the option to delete it nor can I find where is it stored on my mac. I would either like to export it (AD is not allowing to export since it's locked) or delete it which I can't! So how can I remove this lock feature in order to delte or export the 311 MB illustration? -
my exported photo looks very different from the picture I seen in Affinity Photo. I have photo of heavy snowing, and I want to emphise large snow flakes, with denoise. The photo looks fine on Affinity screen but when I export it to jpeg (fiff, png) denoise filter has disappeared completely. How to make exported jpeg look like the original on Affinity screen?

Hello, Apologies if this is already a topic but I am literally at my wit's end trying to figure out what is causing font issues in Affinity. This is my first week using the program and I have read over a dozen different sites on how to fix these issues and nothing is working! I am working with marketing materials within Affinity and noticed a message saying I was missing some fonts (attached). Naturally, I knew that missing these was causing existing text to size improperly because my Mac did not have said fonts. So I installed the needed fonts: Futura LT, Futura Std, Open Sans, Pier Sans, Proxima Nova, Proxima Nova Condensed and Source Sans Pro. These were downloaded through my employer and are working for other computers but mine is having issues. After downloading these fonts, the alert saying that I was missing them is now gone. But, the documents are still messed up as if I do not have the font. When I click on the impacted text in my documents it shows: ? Futura LT (Can be seen in the upper left corner of the second attached image) Is this display essentially saying the text is a form of Futura LT which my Mac doesn't recognize, aka I don't have the font? Because I am not longer receiving the missing font message. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Removing and reinstalling the fonts from font book on Mac, everything, and it still is not displaying the text correctly! I am also looking for Mac info regarding Font Book. Some of these fonts downloaded and installed are showing as yellow when validating but am not entirely sure how that impacts Affinity. Once removed from Font Book its back to step 1 which are the display messages saying I am missing fonts. I am running out of options after trying so many different things. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Will be talking to our designer tomorrow morning to see if he may be able to figure it out. But for now, I am looking for any assistance. Thank you! -
Greetings! I found a beautiful set of playing cards in SVG format @ http://svg-cards.sourceforge.net/ that I want to work with. However, when I try to bring it into either Designer or Photo, the results are, let's say, a bit less than desirable. Here is a screenshot of how it looks in Designer: As you can see, the layers are there, but the layout is completely unworkable. What am I doing wrong here? How can I bring them in so I can edit them? If we can bring them into Designer, is there an easy way to export them out as separate image files, one for each card?

Hello everyone, so I bought Affinity Designer quite awhile ago (pretty much in the beta). I just randomly noticed, that apparently I no longer have any software licenses for Affinity Designer in the Mac App Store, where I originally purchased the software. (the is only the 'buy' option instead of 'open') That way I'm obviously no longer able to update my software. That by the way does not apply for Affinity Photo. I honestly don't really want to buy the software a second time for no reason so I would be very grateful for any help! -
Hi, I signed up for the affinity designer free trail yesterday and immediately started the download. It was very slow so I left it overnight. This morning the progress line had not moved and the expected remaining download time was a 3 days. Is this normal?? Im on a MacOs Sierra version 10.12.6 Thanks! Brooke -
On both design and photo, all the brushes I added before disappeared. Now, I'm trying to import them back but whenever I import them, it says it successfully added the brushes but they are nowhere to be found. What's happening and what should I do? Thanks! (I'm on mac by the way) -
Hi - I like to round trip my RAW photos from Apple Photos using the extension to get to Affinity Photo. Lately (and I'm not sure when this started), sending to and back from Affinity Photo the photos are REALLY dark. If I increase the exposure on an image and then bring it into Affinity Photo, it gets darker and when I increase the exposure in Affinity Photo, it gets even darker when it gets back to Apple Photos. Hey there community and Affinity devs, some time ago I asked the developers via Facebook if there's an option to keep the adjustment presets like gradient maps, imported and saved LUT files, levels, curves – pretty much everything in the "Adjustment"-palette/tab that you may have generated and saved there over time. Back then (August 2015) you would need to save them separately, because you'd loose them with the next update – at least that's what happened to me twice – after that I was more cautious about those files. Anyway, I got a pretty helpful response: I was told there's a file called adjustments.propcol in the directory /Users/<USERNAME>/Library/Containers/com.seriflabs.affinityphoto/Data/Library/Application Support/user/ and it would contain all of my adjustments – and it's true! You can save that file and put it back there after each update to preserve your custom presets. Tough I guess it's been solved since a few updated ago because I haven't done it after a couple of times. Last year I purchased the Win-version of Affinity Photo as well and just now I'm starting to wonder: How to transfer adjustment presets from one system (Mac) to another (Win) and is this possible in the first place? So if anyone knows the answer or a workaround that doesn't involve loading everything manually I'd be pretty thankful. Greetings Dennis

I'm trying to use Affinity Photo to make a curves adjustment layer for digital negatives that will be used in a traditional darkroom process. I need to be able to compensate for the response curves of the medium (e.g. photographic paper, cyanotype) I will be contact printing the negative to. I can calculate the curve but I can't find a way of telling Affinity Photo to make an adjustment curve where input value 5 maps to output value 20, input value 16 maps to output 32, etc. as is possible in Photoshop. I'd be happy to have a way to create a preset in the text file or something if that is possible as the curve would be the same for all images made into negatives and darkroom printed to the same medium. Any ideas? Martin -

I downloaded Affinity Photo for Mac in late December. Everything was working fine. Then I must have hit some hidden short cuts because part of my panels went missing. I restored most of them by resetting the whole program; I am still missing the brush size, and when I work inside the LIQUIFY persona, I don't have the buttons on the upper left hand corner any more that read "confirm" and "cancel". So I can only click back to the other persona. I get an error message (see attached) "Please accept or abort the changes made in Liquify persona before changing to another persona" I can click "okay" or "apply". Okay brings me back to the Liquify persona; "apply" means the changes are applied. I cannot cancel changes made in Liquify anymore. :-( Any help? And is there any way to reset the whole program so all the tool bars look like "out of the box"? I used the reset on start-up, as described in this forum somewhere.

Hello, I downloaded the Affinity Photo trial, but when I tried to add the trial to the "applications" folder, I keep getting the error message, "The operation can’t be completed because one or more required items can’t be found." I have a Mac OS High Sierra, version 10.13.2. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! -
I just started my use of Affinity on my Mac Mini. I also have downloaded it to my Mac AirBook. However, I cannot tell if the second download was charged to my account, or if it will operate under my current Key. I could not find a way to enable the Key on the Mac Book Air. Please advise. Additionally, I had a "30 day Trial" in November/December under another log in. I want to have all my communication and orders with Affinity under the same email address and login. I tried to edit my email address but could not do so. How can I clean up my records at Affinity? -
Hi guys. I'm going traveling for the next few years and i was wondering how well this application will work on my 12" Retina MacBook. It only has a 1.1 GHz dual core, which turbo's to 2.4 GHz, so i was wondering how well it will work, as i want an editing program for all the raw video/photos ill be taking. Thank again! -
I'm moving over from Illustrator (so far so good) but I'm having issues working with moving/scaling masks and their content. I can create a mask, resize and reposition the mask over the fixed content, but I'd also like the ability to resize/reposition the content without affecting the mask. It would be the same as pasting the object into the mask shape (allowing easy repositioning/scaling of the content) - but with paste inside, you can't easily edit the "mask" shape without affecting the content as well. I work with photos and want to mask out portions but still be able to move/scale the photo and also the mask. In Illustrator, you just click on the object and then can choose to edit the contents or the mask path, and I'm looking for something similar. Am I missing something, or is this not possible in Designer (without releasing the mask, changing content and then reapplying the mask which is a pain and makes it harder to do right as the mask shape blocks the content below)? -
I'm fairly new to Affinity Photo (so glad being able to leave Adobe's subscription...) Is there a way to multi-select documents from the iPad AP home screen and transfer them to a WiFi drive ? The only way I found to have a copy of the ".afphoto" document is by using the "Save a copy" option, one document at a time... which is tedious when you come back from a trip and want to transfer all the work you have done on your iPad to your Mac. The Mac is the place where I keep all pictures (RAW, JPG and AP documents) as my main repository and for which I have real backups. I don't trust any cloud offering and I don't want to use them. Here is what I'm using: - iPad Pro (iOS 11) with Affinity Photo V1.6 - WD My Passport Wireless Pro - iMac 27" (mac OS Sierra - V10.12.6) with Affinity Photo (V1.6.6) While on a trip: - copy all my pictures (RAW) taken during the day to the iPad Photos - use AP to do editing of some pictures (usually my daily "Top 10") - copy all my pictures (RAW) taken during the day to the WD My Passport Wireless Pro (as backup) Once back home - load all RAWs from the WD My Passport Wireless Pro to the Mac - load all pictures in LightRoom (stand alone) (waiting for Affinity DAM software....) - would like to be able to batch transfer all ".afphoto" documents from iPad to Mac (subject to this post). BTW: Affinity team, your software is awesome !!! Congrats ! -

Hi all, A quick question... I'm running Affinity Designer & Affinity Photo on a Mac Pro 2010 with nVidia Quadro 4000 2gb GFX card on High Sierra 10.13.2 and cannot seem to get the 'metal' option under Performance to work - it's greyed-out. I've checked System Profiler and the report states Metal is supported. Interestingly, it works fine on my Macbook Pro Retina 15in (2012). Is this a bug? -
I am just starting using AD and love what little I can do with it to create content for clients. Looking forward to improving my skills as I get more familiar with the software, but I'm struggling to define something that is happening today when I'm importing PDFs and - since I can't exactly define what is happening - I'm not entirely sure how to search for the solutions. I've tried every permutation of selecting and de-selecting the checkboxes when opening the docs I need to work in, but I'm still not able to open a file with editable text fields the way I've been able to every other time I've opened PDFs. Can someone point me in the right direction to a solution (that hopefully isn't retyping out the entire document since I can't seem to find any versions of the original source material that aren't PDFs). Could the issue be something that's unique to the program these PDFs were originally created/saved in? Just installed Affinity on my Macbook this week so I know I'm working in the most UTD iteration. Hey, I've been having some problems since I bought Affinity. I bought it over the AppStore, but I never received an Email to actually make an account for the affinity store and therefore could not download it. I have been trying to find a solution, but I couldn't find one. If you could help me that would be great -

Well, I need a clou here if I‘m just overlooking something or it is just currently not possible :) I made two different documents in Designer on my iMac: 1) CMYK with the Generic CMYK profile 2) CMYK und the ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI) Now, for example, if I create a red object with 100M 100Y in the Generic document and it looks like it should. If I copy it and paste it into the ISO Coated document it converts the color appropriate to the other profile: for now 2C 95M 83Y 6K and looks surely different. In other programms like Illustrator, ... I have the option to paste with converting into the profile or use the color values – and that is what I am missing. It just converts every time to the profile instead to use the correct values or even giving me the choice. If I place the Generic document (with the place command) into the ISO Coated document and double click the now embedded object, it opens and show me correct the 100M 100Y values inside the ISO Coated document. It correctly converts only if I export it to PDF with the document profile. I can switch the profile in the document prefs and select asign or convert, but all things pasted via the clipboard get always converted. Ist there an option the preserve the values? Thanks for any help in advance. :-)
