  1. Hi I would like to be able to sync the export to the last save. i.e. when you hit cmd+s it also exports to the last file format - probably needs a toggle on/off. Why? It just if you make a small typo in a graphic you have to go back and re-export everything. Either loads of slices or even just a print ready eps. I feel dumb if you can do this. Jake
  2. Figured out the pressure sensitivity settings in Pixel Persona (I'm a painter, not a graphic designer so this is probably all I'll ever use) BUT. I've noticed that drawing with my Wacom, I get -very- unsmooth, jagged, laggy lines. What this program desperately needs is a lazymouse or stabilization setting. Without that, this thing is completely useless to me. :(
  3. It would be great to have a color wheel similar to this: I'd even be happy if we could have TWO color pallets viewable in the workspace, One being sliders and the other being a wheel. I would LOVE an option similar to something like this: These would give a great amount of control with color that would make color selection with painting a lot smoother. Changes: 1. Red being at the top (0 degrees) 2. Color schemes: Complimentary, Triadic, split complimentary, etc. 3. Tint - 100% tint is always represented as the color, where in painting if you've tinted your colors you're ADDING white, so the slider is reversed from the default. 4. Blending - foreground and background colors go on either end of the slider. 5. Color temperature (lock) & Tone (lock)- these are lifted from Anastasy's Magic Picker, they're really powerful features I hope this was somewhat intelligible and that others might find these requests useful for their process. Thank you very much for taking our requests seriously and listening to the community, you guys and gals rock!
  4. It would be nice if on the UNDO menu selection, it showed which operation is to be undone. If you have a number of undo's it's nice to know when to stop. Thanks.
  5. One feature I use all the time in Adobe Illustrator is the hide function. I think being able to hide an object to access the objects below it would be a nice addition to a future update to Affinity Designer.
  6. I was wondering if anyone has made a suggestion to a warp feature. Adobe Illustrator has one where you can warp text and objects with arches, arc, upper and lower arc, flag wave, fish eye, inflate, etc. I believe this would be a very welcome addition to the features that Affinity Designer can offer.
  7. 3 feature requests for symbols: The ability to nest symbols within symbols (simply MUST happen) This will allow the user to create composable elements that can be nested inside each other, so any change that is made to a small symbol can only happen to that symbol, and that symbol can be re-used a other, larger symbols. This is an incredibly simple, yet incredibly powerful idea that can allow users the ability to minimize manual work and maximize productivity and creativity. This is an important feature that Sketch does not currently support. The ability to unlink certain attributes inside individual instances of a symbol (same shape, but colors, sizes, visibility, per instance can vary) Let's say the user wants a button to be used twice, but wants the color of each instance of that button to be different. If the user has the ability to link or unlink individual styles, then this would be possible. Another good example is size. Let's say I make a widget Icon and I want to use that across the mobile, tablet and desktop versions of an app design. I don't want to have to remake the icon at different sizes. I just want to use the same icon, but scale it to the appropriate size for the app design in question. Best way to implement request 2 would be to have a styles list for each instance with a green link next to each shared style. If the user clicks the green link, it turns into a red broken link, then that particular style can be changed in that particular instance, without affecting the other instances of that symbol. This is an important feature that Sketch does not currently support. The ability to change the master instance of a symbol in a project (because that sort of thing may change over time ). Sometimes I want to work on a symbol in one context and then have all other instances updated. But sometimes I want to work in a different context and have all other instances updated. As a side note, this forum rich text editor dos not seem to allow for line spacing or before and after paragraph spacing, or even tabs...so the lack of those things makes it difficult to edit posts and make them readable... Anyway, thanks for listening, Richard Nash Los Angeles, CA
  8. Hi all, I'm coming from a couple years of using Photoshop, I had looked at other alternatives for awhile now and finally came across Affinity Photo/Designer about a month ago. Looking great so far. I'm impressed with how robust Photo & Designer in what feels like such a short period of being released publicly. One thing that is driving me batty though is how I can't seem to scale/transform/ or move selections on the fly. This is especially helpful when working with ellipses. As an example, attached at the bottom is a poison control logo. It should have taken me all of 5 seconds to get rid of the text in the thick black stroke, and create a replacement text to go in there. But I was not able to figure out how to create a ellipsis marquee that could move on the fly. I could make the marquee selection (click drag release), and then move it, but only after the fact, and this meant I couldn't get the right size ellipsis, nor where I wanted it since the ellipses starts wherever you click as a "corner" (no option to grow the selection from center AFAIK), and I'm not seeing an obvious way to resize the selection/marquee itself rather than pixels. This is something that I used heavily and made me a very happy camper on Photoshop. In Affinity Photo it took me several minutes to make a sloppy ellipses that encompassed the whole circle with text and all, use the free hand tool to select bits that the first ellipsis didn't get for the outer selection, and use the free hand tool again for subtracting the inner circle portion (which I should ideally be able to do with an ellipsis) I'm asking here first before making a feature request as I really am new to this software, and I have not watched all the tutorials yet, I need to get work done now, not later. I did a few searched and looked at other theads/posts about selections and did not see my specific question asked or mentioned.
  9. I'd love if there was a function as potoshop's "Focus area" to make on a selection only of the areas in focus
  10. Dear Affinity Team, I love your application - it's just fantastic. Infinitely better than anything Adobe has contributed to the software market (and I have Adobe software). It is my preferred graphics editor hands down! I have been working on a few documents recently that are very large, with many elements, that I am tweaking for someone else after they paid for them to be created commercially. Unfortunately, the company that created the document didn't group or layer it very well. It's nigh on impossible to tweak the file without spending ages looking at each individual element. Would it be possible to add a feature to search for element types, for example, text etc. It won't find the exact object I'm looking for, but it would certainly help to limit the number of elements I manually need to search through! Hope you might be able to consider this for a future release. Best regards, Moi :)
  11. Hi! I'm absolutely delighted by Affinity Designer from the first time I purchased and opened it, so first of all I'd like to thank all the devs for the great work they're doing! Now, I have a feature request, there's a little tool that I use every so often in Illustrator called the colorize tool. If I create some vector art in a color scheme (for instance in shades of blue and red) but then want to use it in a different background and would like it to be in different colors, I could go one by one to all the elements but if there are many it's tedious and time consuming. The colorize tool lets me change all colours at one using a color wheel that maintains basically the relation of luminance of each shade but changing the colors. Now I'm working with the color superposition tool to achieve a basic similar result, but a color changing tool like the colorize tool in illustrator would be more precise and versatile. Thanks and keep the great work! J.-
  12. I am already smitten by Designer and Photo! I have worked with digital design apps since the late 1980s, starting with the 1.0 versions of Freehand, and PageMaker, and with Photoshop since the early 1990s. I see these as viable "next steps" for my current CS6 suite, which is now pretty much frozen in time. Since I'm mainly a "type" guy, one missing feature that stands out for me as soon as I open the apps is an option to show measurements in picas and points. It may not be as important with painting and drawing programs on their own, but I still work with print publications where it really is easier (and for me, native) to think of measurements as 12 to the pica, and roughly 6 picas to the inch. I'd love to see another unit option that allows for this (go with digital picas if you prefer to keep it a straight 72 points / inch). This would add an important underpinning for your upcoming Publisher product, where I guarantee many of us who work with type will demand it. Thanks, and I'm going to go back and play with these new toys now… -- Matt
  13. It would be nice to have a linear burn blending option amongst the layer blending modes. Per Wikipedia: Specifically, I'm looking for something that Wikipedia describes as:
  14. Hi, Firstly can I just say that I love the tool, it feels so great to use! One feature that I would love to see implemented is an 'align to last selected' or 'align to first selected' option. So basically whenever you use the align buttons they would always snap to whichever object the user selected last, or first, depending on the user's preference. Inkscape has a great option menu which allows you to select which you would like to align to based on your preferences. In my opinion this is even more useful than the 'align to key object' system which Illustrator uses, as the key object system requires an extra click which slows things down. Anyway keep up the good work!
  15. I would love to have a set of dimensioning and scale tools like HotDoor CAD tools. I create technical drawings, usually for signage and graphics. If you guys delivered a toolset like that, I couldn't give you my $ fast enough. https://www.hotdoor.com/cadtools
  16. Brush Pressure controls opacity is the one missing feature in Affinity Designer that is keeping me from making it my main paint app. I can't find a way to change opacity with brush pressure. If the feature does exist I'm not seeing it. Seems like it should be under the dynamics section of the brush editor. The attached file is one I sent to Paolo Limoncelli which illustrates the issue. He was able to help me with advice on blending, but I miss my opacity control which is available in virtually every other paint program known to mankind. So, if it is available I'd love to know how to do it. If it's not then it should be a top priority for your next release :D
  17. Hey guys, I wanted to suggest a useful addition to the grid tool: Radial grids, where we can assign the number of sections / slices in the circular grid, as well as the number of rings. Having separate gutter/spacing for both dimensions would be great as well. Thanks for considering this.
  18. Affinity Designer - Pie Hole Radius in pt instead of percent or choosable measuring unit would be beautiful! Great Great Software! Great Great GUI! Jørn
  19. I love to see a list view option for swatches so, I don't have to roll over each swatch to see the name of the swatch. swatch color to the left and name or color to the right.
  20. Hi, It would be great if you add ability to export shapes as web-font. Right now I'm using icomoon, but it would be great to have such feature baked into Affinity Designer. The app is great. I love it.
  21. It be useful if I could click and drag across several layer check marks at once to turn multiple layers visibility off with a simple drag. Also it would be nice to be able to select several layers with a simple command click and then by unchecking one of them would turn off the visibility for all the the layers checked. Does that make sense?
  22. Hey guys, First of all, wonderful job on this app. It's so promising and I'm so happy to be a part of the community. I haven't been able to integrate it into my daily workflow because it's missing some key points, and every time I use it I stumble upon a lot of those. One small detail which actually makes a big difference on regular usage is the fact that while creating a shape or resizing it, I can't hold space bar to move it. That's a feature most vector graphics apps out there include, and it makes life a lot easier in terms of positioning elements on the screen. Does anyone else miss this?
  23. Hi there! Firstly I'd like to say that this is one amazing program ideal for artists! A real treat to have come across. I have recently been creating my own font, It's great fun but can be tedious and I came across a cool plugin for fontlab studios which harmonizes the characters. Its called RMX harmonizer -http://remix-tools.com/harmonizer I thought that a tool like this for my artwork would be ideal! Not just for fonts! It would help make everything look really smooth and sleek and cut loads of time in the design process. I also think it will give the software a one up on illustrator as theres nothing like it for illustrator ;) I also had an idea a few years ago which I thought would be really helpful, I sent it to another company but unfortunately they haven't got back to me. Perhaps you'd like to have a look- Ive attached a pdf.. Its a tracer tool that would save a lot of time of cutting paths, joining paths.. I really hope you like the ideas and I look forward to hearing from you Matt Tracer Project Proposal.pdf
