  1. Hi everybody, I've created this book reading slug. The drawing is to be used as a colouring page for free download at a website for kids. I really like the abillity to draw using the pen tool and then add the pressure feeling afterwards :)
  2. From what I've seen so far you guys did a wonderful job with Photo, thank you so much!! One thing in particular that needs some closer look for me is the noticeable lagging of paint brushes plus the little offset when starting to paint (leading to little gaps in drawings). I've noticed some lagging in designer as well, but since the focus is on vector drawing it is not as important as it is here.
  3. Hi folks; maybe this already exists somewhere and I wasn't able to find it by now, if not, then consider this to be a request: When I'm drawing something inside Illustrator, I can hit SPACEBAR to readjust the position of my point or shape as I'm drawing. This was one of the first things I missed when trying out Affinity. It's not like drawing a point, hitting a, changing its position and then continue drawing would be such a bug deal, but that Spacebar-thing really helps getting into Hyperflowmode. Something that AD is usually quite good at :) So keep it coming guys, cheers
  4. I really should have titles this WIP: Disclaimer (This is really just a test I using really loose brush strokes on this and nothing really been cleaned up. ) So, this was just a quick little test in shading. I saw the movie, love the character so, why not draw him he seem to be be a simple study for shading techniques. :)
  5. I was just curious if this is by design or not? When I draw a shape using the pen tool, if I cross back into the shape that I'm drawing it creates a drop-out effect when I add colour to it. I have attached an example file to better illustrate my question. Is there any way to change the behaviour of the pen via a setting or something? Thanks. Pen_example.afdesign
  6. So tonights late night doodle is dedicated to the special lady in my life... Ok maybe this was an excuse to play with creating my own custom brushes. I am building a nice little collection of brushes. So tonight was about brushes and mixing up some vectors with some pixels all in one image. You work in this application long enough you start jumping between the pixel and Draw Persona and you dont even think twice. I love to know what everyone interpretation of the story is in this image. (Squirrel) ohh did I mention I say Big Hero 6 the movie today? Go see it !!! It is worth every bit of the coin. Anyway enjoy.
  7. Hi all, here is my first AD drawing. It was very interesting experience and after few different approaches drawing is complete. Best, Greg
  8. So tonight I was working on something else then started doodling this character and then it ended up turning into a rabbit and then I just ran with it and this how it turned out. I am not even sure whats it about but maybe you know haha.
  9. I really Love Affinity....
  10. So, my buddy who is a big time comic book geek was going off about how there is going to be a Superman Vs Batman Movie. Anyway, every time we chat about comics I always confuse which superheros is in Marvels universe and which superheroes are from the D.C. universe. Anyway, Today was his Birthday so I decided to make him some original art. He is a big Batman fan so I thought this would be fitting. My process is still the same. sketch on paper. shoot it, import it, trace it, and color it.
  11. Hi, I'm working on my first drawing in AD. I enjoy using pixel and vector tools in one app especially. Because I use Photoshop for pixel work I have some thoughts about pixel persona (apologize if it was pointed somewhere). 1. When I make mask for pixel layer it is not linked to this layer (I see it above). Maybe it has some pros but I can't see them. 2. I can't invert mask. It would be great to use Cmd+I for that. 3. I can't use black and white on my mask. In Photoshop black hides and white shows. Here both show and I need to change tool to Eraser if I want to hide something. 4. I can't make mask preview (Option click in Photoshop shows mask). 5. It would be great to have options for Layers panel (with invert, make selection, show mask, hide mask etc.). 6. Can I use Space+Cmd, Space+Option to zoom in/out? It doesn't work for me (or works sometimes). Best, Greg
  12. Love the pen tool. How do I delete or add points on the line? kat
  13. Gostaria de saber se alguém está com o mesmo problema. Eu uso uma bamboo touch para fazer minhas ilustrações e não estou conseguindo deixar o pincel sensível a pressão da caneta. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wonder if anyone is having the same problem. I use a bamboo touch to make my illustrations and am unable to leave the sensitive brush pen pressure.
