Hi, I keep encountering crashes for the past week upon trying to import/export media via the share sheet. It freezes and sometimes restarts the app, causing lost progress in some cases. I’ve restarted my iPad multiple times, which clears up the issue for about 30 minutes, before it starts happening again. The app has also been taking an extra long time to load up (maybe about 10-15 seconds on the logo screen in some cases). Any advice would be appreciated

Hallo, ich arbeite an einem Ausmalbuch in Affinity Publisher und bin dabei alle Bilder auf die Buchseiten zu platzieren. Gestern konnte ich problemlos alle Bilder platzieren. Heute musste ich nochmal etwas nachbessern aber es lassen sich keine Bilder mehr platzieren, auch nicht mit der Bilderrahmen Funktion. ich habe darauf hin eine ganz neue Datei erstellt und wollte alles noch einmal machen. Jetzt ist es so, das ich lediglich 6 Bilder platzieren kann, dann reagiert auch hier die Bild Platzierung nicht mehr. ich habe es mehrmals mit neuen Dateien versucht, jedesmal mit dem gleichen Ergebnis. Mein iPad hat genug Speicherplatz. Ich habe Puplisher deinstalliert und neu heruntergeladen mit dem gleichen Ergebnis. Was könnte mir da helfen? Bzw. was mache ich falsch? lg von Sissi

please advise how to select only some pages for export to PDF .... in the settings I see only two options, either all or the current page .... but I want to select more only some pages

Is collaboration between multiple users possible in Affinity Publisher? If so how can I begin using it with another collaborator?

Hello, I’m new here and have two questions: 1. It took me a while to figure out how to sort columns and rows alphabetically. I kept reading that there was an arrow on the right side of the column header and I didn’t see one. Ultimately, I ended up blinding pressing the right side of a header and it triggered the menu! The arrow seems to be invisible for me. Is that because the header is black in color and camouflaging it? 2. I want to only sort part of a column, rather than the whole column. Unfortunately, if I click on the header, “Sort Ascending” and “Sort Descending” are my only options and it won’t allow me to sort only the cells I have selected - I’m forced to sort the entire column. I know that on the desktop version, if I select a number of cells in a column, only those cells will be sorted when I tell it to sort. Is there a way to achieve that on the iPad version? Thank you.

Hi @Alessandro Carnevali and welcome to the forums, The good news is that your file opens without any issues. All the assets in the file are Linked which suggests it's likely one of the Linked files causing the issue, most likely the version of 'Store basket.ai' on Page 3 which I replaced in the attached file. I would strongly recommend that you move all your Linked files to your Internal Hard Drive, keeping them stored on a Cloud Drive or External Drive can cause issues. If you rename the folder where all your Linked Assets are stored to break the link to the Publisher file you should find the file will open. Then move your Linked files to your Internal Hard Drive, relink them and see if that fixes the issue for you... Let us know how you get on with the attached file, whether moving and relinking the assets works for you, or whether you still encounter problems. Good morning, I switched from Affinity 1 to Universal Licence Affinity V2. When I use Affinity publisher on my iPad I cannot open a file stored on google Drive. I just cannot tap on it to open it. But if I move the file to the Affinity publisher folder stored locally, then it works! Why? Not being able to work on afpub files stored online defeat the purpose of working seamlessly between Mac and iPad How can I solve that? Thank you very much Sapaka

I want to buy this app If this app has; 1. Can I tile a pdf page into 12 equal parts. Number each part. (1, 2, 3, 4,..) and then print each of them separately with this app. How? 2. Can I batch crop a pdf file?

I couldn‘t find what I am looking for via search function. In Publisher for iPad is there a way to collect all used files (linked and embedded) into a new folder? I need to continue working on my publisher file on the desktop version but I have many files that are linked to a Designer file on my iPad. (and no, I don‘t want to mess around with iCloud ;-))

Please help! I was editing my guidebook file and I by mistake clicked on an image in the file and select edit image. This opened the image, I closed the file. But than my main project wasn’t opening anymore and not affinity publisher is crashing every time I try to open it. im desperate my last backup was yesterday and I put another 10h of work overnight. I need to publish in a few hours. I’m litteraly cring the file is attached if someone can help I can even pay them.

As I understood it, picture frame can be scaled while the nested picture inside won‘t be scaled or stretched with if set to none. What am I missing here? RPReplay_Final1707343923.mov

Hello there! I have created a 150 pages photo book in Publisher 2.3.1 on my iPad Pro (M1, 256 GB (8GB RAM)) and would love to export it to a PDF file so I can share and later print it. However, whenever I try to do that, Publisher gets to about 50 % and then crashes. I tried splitting the file into two 75 pages documents and those can be exported properly, even though this also takes FOREVER. I know it‘s probably just a very very huge project for Publisher – but shouldn‘t it be able to cache the files somewhere on the iPad‘s local storage so even with the limited RAM the iPad should be able to handle this? In general, PDF exporting with a lot of images takes sooo long. It‘d be great if Serif could speed this up. In addition, it would be super great if I wouldn‘t have to create a separate file for this split-export: Why is there no option to select specific pages on the export dialog? Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Hi all, happy new year. I’m literally pulling my hair out over this. I have searched the help section, I’ve searched youtube and asked in various relevant facebook groups and not a single source will give me a straight answer to what I feel should be a really easy question. I would be so grateful if someone could PLEASE give me step by step instructions on how to add page numbers to a multi page Publisher document on the iPad. I’ve been using Designer for years but I’m relatively new to Publisher so I don’t know all the terms and where to find things. Thank you

Hi @VinylDinosaur, There aren't really any that i can think of. As you have access to Publisher and Photo, you can just work inside in Publisher and switch to the Photo Persona when needed. This is a tricky one to answer and there isn't a one size fits all answer. Exporting using one of the digital Presets (Digital small or High Res) should be enough for viewing on screen. The digital small preset will give you the smallest PDF. Ideally, you want to set that higher than your current documents DPI. Play around and check the quality of the export on screen and see what suits your work best

Hallo all I'm looking to make an artist portfolio for myself. But I'm having some difficulties with the PDF's file size. I have a bunch of different photos, some that are very large and others that are smaller in terms of file size. But since it's an artist portfolio, it's important that the resolution is high. But the resulting PDF is huge and some of the opportunities I want to apply to specific that the portfolio shouldn't be bigger than 10MB 1. What are the advantages of first processing the photos in Affinity Photo (cropping and downsampling) and then placing them in Publisher? It'd be easier for me to always work in Publisher to be able to make adjustments and using the vector crop feature on the fly. 2. What are the best settings for the PDF export? This will be likely seen on a monitor rather than printed. I'm a little confused about the downsample images larger than... setting. Does it make sense to always set the value the same as the Document's DPI?

I want the designs to match perfectly so that if you looked at the front and then the back, the effects would be just like if you was looking at the front of a car, then the back of a car. I've found that you can flip horizontal and vertical, etc. But... it doesn't reorder the layers as if you flipped it to looking at the back. Reordering meaning the front image should become the very back image when flipped, the next front image is behind the first front image is placed to the next back position, etc, when everything is flipped. The order of layers should be changed on the flip. Any ideas how to do this in Affinity Designer, Photo, and or Publisher for iPad? (Preferably Designer).

Have been using iPad Pro v.3 256G (with still approx. 100G free)… utilizing Photo, Designer, and Publisher for months without issue, and now is consistently crashing regardless of which being used. Though it was at first simply overextending the Apps, graphics-wise or large file sizes- numerous Layers, Adjustments, complex procedures or what have you…but now is simply when performing what is regular or normal Use or Editing type tasks. Like making edits to Text used, or Adjustment Layers, or even after finishing working on something say in Publisher and using the Hand Tool to view the Document and such. It was happening sporadically at first. Where I’d be doing more intensive work performance, and figured was just too much for it to handle- which is odd, because never had issues prior. Installed the IOS 17.1 update that came out just the day before…and now is more consistently crashing. Have performed numerous Hard Resets, clearing memory cashes I know of, but still persists. Figure that the update might have something to do with it increasing perhaps (?), but definitely needs some fixes beyond that because it was doing so prior to updating. But is now has become very problematic, even in doing simple tasks over duration.

I am trying to export a 100 page document made on Publisher, when i click on export, i can see Preflight Document message box but the Export window does not show up. I have updated the app and tried reopening the document and exporting but the issue persists.

Any news on this topic? I have all my publisher files for a choir I belong to on that choir’s Google drive. I really don’t want to have to copy them, creating duplicates in the process. This runs the risk of using wrong versions at some point. I only bought the iPad version so I could make changes on the move. It seems I’ve wasted my money.

Which PDF to ePUB converter/s would you recommend for PDFs produced by Affinity Publisher 2 software? Ideally for iPAD but can utilize mac catalina or windows 7 as well as alternatives for the conversion.

Not sure if this is a new feature or function but when I use the delete key to remove text within a text frame or using artistic text, it only removes text to the previous space, thus only one word at a time. I am using Affinity Publisher V2 for iPad. Is there a setting available to repeatedly delete text (backspace) until the delete key is lifted?

I'm hoping this is the same oddity I have. I use delete a lot to 'delete' text as I type. However, recently (over the last couple of updates?) I notice that doing this deletes the whoelk text frame. Really annoying. The only way around is to stop mid flow, click agian in the text box where I want to correct and then use the delete key. Bit laborious. Is there a setting to opt for 'normal/previous' delete key behaviour? – A good exampel is typing this question I am deleting and retying as I go (usually because I hit the wrong key). In this instance the delete key does what I expect. But IN Publisher (and I presume the other apps), the delete key removes everything. thanks for any insights Jeremy

Hello, I already searched the forum but couldn't find a relevant answer to my problem. So, here it is. I have Mac and iPad Pro. I use Affinity Publisher on both. All up to date. Dropbox is linked on both via Settings. Dropbox folder is on encrypted hard drive. Publisher's file is on it so are the photos (in various folders). On Mac I created the file added photos through linking, saved and closed. The path to linked resources are not as shown in help files. When I open this file on the iPad it shows that resources are missing. When I try to replace the image from the same Dropbox folder it a) embeds the image despite preference to link, b) the path to the image has nothing to do with Dropbox. If I insert another image, it will be linked but when I open the file on Mac I will get missing resources message. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
