Problem has been solved by uninstalling all versions USING THE WINDOWS UNINSTALLER and then reinstalling Version 2 (MSIX) . Do note that the installation requires updated Microsoft Visual C++ files (image included). If you are still having issues download and install the MSIX Trouble shooter and follow the instructions. It will analyze the MSIX, will determine dependencies (how I found I did not have the required C++ files installed) and will make the process simple and easy Note the version of the MICROSOFT VISUAL C++ files required for the MSIX Affinity software to install properly. to recap: Uninstall all versions but use the Windows 10 uninstall. run the MSIX trouble shooter with Administrator rights and follow the instructions. It will determine if you need any dependencies isntalled. Install the Microsoft Visual C++ packages if needed. reboot run MSIX troubleshooter again and let it install the Affinity V2 MSIX file This should solve any problems and restore viewing the thumbnails (do not forget to set that in Affinity preferences (save thumbnail with file MUST be checked) Make sure your Folder View also allows use of the thumbnails

I am having same problem, no thumbnails visible. I have installed the Beta and Version 1, rebooted computer and issue did not resolve. I have cleared the thumbnail cache, rebooted, and issue is still there. thumbnails for all other applications show but no thumbnails for aphoto files. Is this a known issue> ? Any workarounds? I recall the same issue happened with Version 1.0 but was eventually resolved. thank you laz

Well, here we are again...no thumbnails visible in Explorer from Version 2 of Affinity Photo...installing the Beta and reinstalling Version 1 did not solve the issue. And yes, I have set Folder view properly. Any ideas? Is this a known issue?

Jesus Christ...I spent 1 hour trying to work this issue out and it's something as simple as disabling CapsLock....why dont you savvy guys write a small handbook of 'little' details like this for us poor users....

I am having the same plugin issue with Affinity 2 (after the latest update) I point the 'add' to the correct location \on the drive where my plugins are located and they show (upon reload of Affinity) as 'working' but when I attempt to use the\m they are greyed out and unavailable. I still have Affinity version 1 running and the plugins function properly with that version. HELP

this happens to me while using a mouse in Windows 10, Affinity Photo V2. the circle denoting size of brush disappears and only the cross hairs are left leaving me unable to determine the size of the area being painted etc. Any fixes?

Same issue...the brush remains a cross-hair and I can see the brush changing size in the properties panel but the cross-hair remains unaltered in size. The issue happens intermittently

I agree, I am using Affinity Photo for both photography and digital art and at times when I am doing post on an image I want to vary the opacity (burn in/dodge using a curve) and find myself unable to control the process, so yes, the ability to control opacity by pen pressure is really a necessity when I am using the Wacom tablet for post. I have experimented with the flow, accumulation, etc., and none of my experiments give a useful result if I need to vary opacity.

I am having this problem with Explorer and have tried everything I know, from cleaning the thumbnails cache to adjusting the parameters in folder options to show thumbnails and not icons but still get what you see in the image below. I am running Windows 10 Pro. Can anyone help me? UPDATE: I simply unistalled Affinity (use the windows unistaller) and reinstalled and problem solved. Use the Windows unistaller via control panel since the 'detailed' uninstallers will wipe out all your settings, etc...

it may be cumbersome to generate camera profiles (Raw -> DNG -> Xrite tool -> camera profile) but if there were some integration in Affinity Photo (read and apply profiles either in RAW interface of after developing the RAW file) it would greatly add to the functionality of the software. Perhaps a stand alone Camera to ICC profile converter? Either way, please consider this as of now there is no way to apply data obtained from the Xrite passport to the image. Laz

location of assets file C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Affinity\Photo\1.0\user C is my OS drive under Windows, use your own boot drive file name is adjustments.propcol, in my case the file had grown to 1.31 GB. and anytime I clicked on the LUT selection< affinity would simply sit there and loop in a 'not responding' loop. The solution was to simply navigate to the directory above and rename the file as a backup file (filename.bak) and then reboot Affinity Photo this will clear all your presets (I can live without the LUTs as I only used a few which I could later reload) laz

if you are still with Adobe, you dont know what you are missing....and at 1/2 price you are paying less for the apps than for a 1 year subscription to Adobe...give it a shot , I am beyond pleased with the results I get from Affinity Photo (take a look at Ivan Weiss using Affinity for his work)

I am no longer having an issue (so far) I had reinstalled on win 7 and it worked and now I have moved all my stuff to my new Windows 10 computer but have not tried it yet. I will let you know if I have an issue and if I am able to generate a work around. You will probably have to reset all your preferences. do check the opacity setting and set hardness and flow to 100% to see if that solves anything
