You might want to consider moving that functionality into a library which can be loaded into the app dynamically when running on 10.9 and above and is simply left out on older versions.  That way you can create an app that works universally but simply leaves out the unsupported functionality on older versions of the OS.

I agree, this way 10.7 and 10.8 users (and I know they aren't really numerous) can buy from Affinity store... so it makes more money for you... and perhaps you'll do the same way for other functionalities when dropping 10.9 full support.

Personally, I'm using Mojave, El Capitan and Lion on 2 different locations (+ a laptop) and i would prefer using Photo and publisher on my 24" white imac than using the laptop.. I bought Photo from the MAS and preordered Publisher from the Affinity store... but I wonder if I should cancel the preorder and buy it from the MAS... or not.

  2. Another question about preordering (or not) Publisher... Photo and Designer are (as shown on the MAS) 10.7 compatible but only 10.9 for the Affinity store version...

I still have 10.7 machines and I enjoy using Photo 1.6 on it (I know 1.7 betas were not working on 10.7 : i tested without success). So THE question : Will the MAS Publisher version be able to run on Lion ?

and why a compatibility difference between MAS and Affinity store version for at least Photo and Designer. ?

As always: Updates of beta versions are distributed at first without using the in-app update mechanism to avoid, that crucial bugs are spread too fast.

So: The in-app updater alerts you later than the forum here.

I'm perfectly aware of this , but IIRc 1.7.0.6 was released a week ago.... so please read carefully what is written before replying...

  4. hello, not really a bug but something annoying...

I installed Publisher on my main mac and also on my laptop which is not often connected to the internet. 3 days ago , when launching beta 140, it tells me that the beta is timouted and that I have to download the new version (145)... I remember that the update from 140 to 145 was about 40MB.... So I find very stupid to force to a full download while the update is on the server... I think a good way to manage that would be to force to upgrade to continue using the software...

another (strange ?) thing... today after having launched the beta 140 145, it asked me to upgrade to 157... ok let's go it starts downloading for around 116 MB IIRC.... ok but when coming back to my laptop, it was downloading a more than 300MB "file".. moreover after stoppng the process, it seems the 116MB will have to be downloading again for updating.... So I'll take the laptop home and update through wifi and not using 4G as usual...
