Redbrit got a reaction from Paul Mudditt in Affinity Designer for iPad - 1.7.0
Looks like it is @awan.
Click grid, change to isometric then the studio will appear under the 3 dot menu at the top. Works really well but a little disappointed that they didn’t fix the visual bug when snapping to points on the iPad.

Hi Redbrit
Thanks for your report, this is an issue we're aware of and has been logged with our developers to be fixed. I'll update this log with your thread.
As PMudditt has mentioned, the grid and snapping is functioning, simply the grid is not being displayed correctly. This can be confirmed by saving a document showing the same issue as yours and opening this on the desktop version of the app. The shape is correctly snapped to the grid and does not appear to 'move' away from the correct point as on the iPad, meaning this is a display issue and not a snapping inconsistency.
If you are working to export the file then rest assured that the shape will be constrained correctly to the grid, however I appreciate the annoyance of the shape not appearing correctly and hopefully this will be repaired shortly -

Ok now I see it, looks to be a resolution problem with the software that draws the grid to me.
The actual grid, which is invisible mathematics behind the scenes, is accurate which can be easily checked in the transform studio by drawing a shape snapping to the grid and then measuring its dimensions. It Is the drawing of the visible grid that has a bug when zoomed in very close.
My guess is the draw grid function isn’t using the same high precision maths that’s shapes are using, perhaps for speed reasons. If that is the case I guess they risk slowing down the on screen performance by using the same mathematical precision for drawing the visible grid.
My twopeneth as a software engineer for 41 years.
i guess Serif will step in now and correct me.

I'm seeing the same behaviour. The lines appear to move when zoomed! Snapping on or off, doesn’t matter.

Redbrit got a reaction from mondze in Bleed lines not showing on document Affinity Designer
So 2 years since this has been brought up and no progress on the visible bleed?
I came to Affinity as I heard the dev team were highly responsive in implementing features that the customer base needed. It's a little disappointing to see such an obvious feature overlooked and abandoned. Is there any future plans to have the visible bleed? I understand that you guys may be really busy with Publisher but this should be a day one, week one feature.

Redbrit reacted to retrograde in Envelope warping, object-distort, perspective tool or fisheye tool?
Hi MEB, as a working professional illustrator and someone who has been in the Affinity camp for some time now I can't overstate how eager I am to seeing as many of these roadmap items brought on stream sooner than later. :-) Having said that, yours is a small team and each one of these roadmap items need to be implemented in to the big picture smoothly and with much care and thought. That goes without saying and I don't think anyone would disagree with that reasoning.
Might I suggest as a way to smooth the transition or perhaps help ease frustration as you develop these items, Affinity might think of launching some sort of dedicated weekly or monthly status update on all things Affinity - what's going on, what's nearing completion, what's coming up, etc... similar to the pdf magazine you did a while back but way less polished, maybe more of an email subscribed bulletin or something similar. It might help both you guys control the flow and nature of information you release and help us users feel a bit more connected to all of the cool stuff that's happening at Affinity HQ, building excitement at the same time. Just a suggestion. :-)

Redbrit reacted to MEB in Saving Shapes
Hi JeremyH,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
There's a new Assets panel for this in Designer 1.5 Beta. You can access it going to menu View ▸ Studio ▸ Assets.
Note that you need to keep the Mac App Store version installed to be able to validate/run the Beta. Also, files created or saved in the Beta are not compatible with previous versions.
