  1. Yup. +1 to all. I know it must be quite annoying for Affinity's devs to hear the constant comparison of features with AI, but it is what it is. If you like to be a serious replacement for AI, then the minimum is having pretty much around 70% of AI features inside AD, either the same or better (i.e. more intuitive, clean/clear context/operation, more logic, etc), or... having features that can achieve similar things but faster and more efficient. Having said that, I do prefer seeing the backlog of bugs fixed first, if the team is not big enough to do bugfix and new feature tracks at the same time. I am optimistic, but I don't see the mentioned features implemented and bugfree before 2017 Q3, if they will have it in the first place. PS: knife/scissors, I think I saw that mentioned in the roadmap, so that might be coming earlier PPS: artboards, I think I saw someone saying how you can make one, by opening an image, and then deleting the image, leaving you with an empty artboard (haven't tried it though)
  2. Can you share more info, maybe the folks on the OBS forum know a solution.
  3. Twitch, but the preview already shows no canvas. I think some people had similar issues with Photoshop, but that turned out just fine. So I have really no clue why the hook doesn't work on Affinity.
  4. Hi, as mentioned in the first line, this concerns stream only. Yes, I'm trying to avoid using Display Capture, as I don't have a dedicated stream pc, and have a bunch of things open for myself, not to share publicly ;-)
  5. I want to use Window Capture to isolate the stream to that particular window. According to the OBS forum, the latest build now supports DirectX11 on Game Capture, which could solve the issue, I managed to capture using game, but still no canvas, just the UI. (with XSplit, Window Capture works perfectly, but the free version limits to 720p)
  6. This concerns (live) streaming only, so not recording -- Ok so what 'thing' exactly does AD and AP use that somehow disables streaming the canvas? OpenGL, DirectX, I'm not really familiair with how these work and all, just that they are related to displaying graphics. With OBS, I can only capture the UI, so pretty much anything except the canvas. With XSplit however, I can capture everything, but the free version limits the resolution. When I know what Affinity is using, I can take that to the OBS forum and maybe they have a plugin for that thing, and solve this. -- If anybody else reading this and know of that 'thing' I need, please by all means, give me a push in the right direction xD
  7. I think Affinity should add formal info on Commercial purchases somewhere in the Forum or on the purchase pages/form. Following Dutch law, businesses buying anything need to be able to add their VAT number on the invoice, to validate the tax to the authority. Otherwise it will be considered a personal purchase and not tax deductable. PS: Serif has been around for a while, I surely hope they know business/commercial essential stuff like this ;-)
  8. Awesome! +1 that Affinity is less intimidating and actually inviting to explore and experiment. I'm really bummed that it can't be streamed live because the use of OpenGL or Direct3D, or one of those things that blocks the capture. I can record it, but I like to instantly react on viewers requests by showing it to them on the canvas.
  9. Ok thank you. Would love this feature as it disables the need for bolean ops in complex illustrations, I mean, Divide everything isn't really a good solution haha. Plus, it really speeds up the workflow as once the live paint group is created, it all comes down to selecting your colors and single click the shapes you want the color in.
  10. Has this been considered, or should I put it in feature request?
  11. In AI, there is something called Live Paint Groups. Is there something similar in AD? For reference: what you see here are three seperate shapes. The moment you make them into a Live Paint Group, every bordered shape (incl. the shape 'between' the square and circle), can be filled with a color.
  12. +1 Right now I'm bouncing between AD and AI too much, will AD ever becoming a true replacement, it will need to 'clone' the majority of AI's most used features. There is no use to having both programs, especially with AI 2017 already out there.
  13. The size I was working on was 1920 x 1080 at 72. Yes I tried the same in Photoshop, and also Clip Studio Paint/Manga Studio, Painstorm Studio, and I don't have the issue in any of them. Is it maybe related to how much RAM AD is using, or at least reserving, or any other sort of operations buffer? Sometimes a lazy mouse effect is nice and handy, but most of the time I want it spot on my cursor ;)
  14. I really hope this gets solved. Potentially looking to replace both IL and PS for AD xD
  15. Ok I managed to record it with Snagit: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nphpghh0hbumu76/2016-11-01_15-59-33.mp4?dl=0
  16. I see. How about my most important problem, the stroke lag?
  17. 1. Hey guys, I have a lag with brush strokes in both Vector and Pixel persona, with both my mouse and tablet. I tried to record it via display capture, but eventhough I turned on "capture cursor", it didn't so you can't see the lag. Instead, I decided to paint it xD 2. Instead of display capture, which records everything you see at any given moment, I like to record/stream via window capture, it perfectly recognizes Affinity, but it doesn't show the canvas. I know this might be related to something called aero? I use Windows 8.1. So this is how the lag looks like: - above is when I move the cursor around without putting down a stroke - below is when I put down a stroke PS: why is the preview color of the brush, not the same as the selected color? (in this case full black)
  18. Ok thanks all. I will take a look into that advanced display setting and scaling as well.
  19. Is there a way to resize the UI, or some of the UI, to make more space for the canvas? Or is this solely the display resolution setting in Windows?
  20. Awesome! I would like to know as well, about the AP v AD workflows, pros and cons, which one excels for this piece you made etc? Maybe an easier angle, but what functionalities exclusive to AP, did you miss while making this in AD?
