  1. @ricecrispies – Thank you for the gridlines. My first experience with actually using .svg files - nice.
  2. One (small) subgroup that works in vectors is signmakers. If the final design is going to be cut with a plotter it must be in 'pure' vectors, so we get used to working/thinking that way and can be perplexed by unexpected changes. Of course if the output is digital printing then raster is just fine.
  3. Pretty much everything Catlover suggests is a good idea. I found this page while searching for info on the strange behaviours of guides, and I quite agree with his suggestions for guides, plus 'tother ideas seem pretty good too. iMac (2013); OS 10.15.7; Affinity Designer w/ lion & crocodile splash page
  4. Well, that puts paid to my search for “how to join line segments in the middle”, after about 3 hours of reading the forums. Thank you, R C-R. Time for bed, with a clear conscience……….
  5. That's It!! I have had the same problem, but intermittent so it was hard to get a handle on it. Coming from Illustrator I wasn't used to checking the dpi but now I shall. If one were to put together a FAQ sheet called "If you are coming from Illustrator" I would mention this behavior. /// Now if I could find the keyboard command to speed up the skew keys (moving an object with keyboard arrow keys)...
  6. Affinity Design on desktop machine (2013 iMac running OS 10.12.6 Sierra). I'm new to Affinity. Working only in vectors 'cause I don't know anything else, I create a sign that is 10.625" x 3.625" - see first photo. When I select the sign and copy it, then open a new document and paste it in, it comes in at a smaller size but in proportion. The artboards are the same size. / When I select "New From Clipboard" it comes in bigger (and measured in pixels, but that can be changed) but in proportion. If you're not paying attention and send out the wrong file it can be expensive.
  7. BrucieNB - did you find a way to lock individual objects? Is it similar to Illustrator, in that it truly locks the object and it cannot be affected by, for example, the node tool? ... Isolation mode is fine, but if everything else is invisible it is hard to make changes in your object except by trial & error. iMac running 10.12.6
  8. Same question, but on Mac. I don't see an 'uninstaller' in my Affinity Trial (or my 'Affinity Designer') application. Is it hiding somewhere, or on Mac does one just delete the 'Trial' application?? 2013 iMac / OS 10.12.6 (Sierra)
