Welcome to the Affinity forums @Frank Webb! What do you mean by several copies? PDF would be the best choice. How should the PDF used further? Online? If online there are PDF presets for Digital Small Size and Digital High Quality. In any way I would export as pages, because a spread export puts 2 pages next to each other and makes it harder to read / print.

Mac. M1. Monterey: FFT Denoise. Paint Brush problems
Joachim_L replied to Steve Ellaway's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Welcome to the Affinity forums @Steve Ellaway! Have a look at the top of the denoise window where you can set the brush size (and other settings) or maybe I did not understand your problem ... -
Export to PSD Rasterizes All Text Layers
Joachim_L replied to JimK's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Welcome to the Affinity forums @JimK! You are not missing anything. PSD is not a documented format and Serif has not found out yet how to keep text layers editable, so this is right now expected behaviour. -
APu tries to be clever, sees the DPI of the image and scales it according to the document DPI. A way could be to place the images in picture frames of 42 x 29,7 cm. To make your work faster you could save the picture frame as an asset. EDIT: I think you mean the image size is 389,5 x 275,4 mm not cm.

There are some pitfalls. Especially the handling of tables in APu is different (not good would be a good description). But IDML import works well to a certain degree. ID has some benefits over APu with e.g. tables, forms, multipage spreads, footnotes to name a few. In the end APu is even now a good alternative to ID depending on what you need, for the rest you have to work-around.

Publisher won't load existing documents
Joachim_L replied to lasleym's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Welcome to the Affinity forums @lasleym! Try to deactivate hardware acceleration under APublisher's Preferences > Performance and try again. -
To me it sounds like a hardware acceleration problem. Turn it off it is not already turned off in Preferences > Performance.

You don't need to, but for quality reasons you should. If your images are low resolution and you do not expect any improvements with resampling, leave the resolution as it is. I guess Amazon and others won't be upset about quality / resolution, they print your stuff at whatever quality and sack the money.
-
Maybe you should turn off the samples in the Text Styles panel? Maybe you should adapt the snapping settings? Finally, close the panels one by one to see if it gets better.

Welcome to the Affinity forums @MrSmmo! The AI file format is closed source so the Affinity applications can only read the PDF stream of an Illustrator file, if the file was saved with PDF compatibility. But even saving with the PDF stream does not mean the document looks the same in Affinity Designer.

Welcome to the Affinity forums @hearhisvoicepoetry! Why do you want images to be forced to 300 dpi? Sometimes this does not give you any improvement. You have to judge your material if it is worth the effort. In ancient times working in prepress, we found that 240 dpi were sufficient for offset printing. Never tested this, but in theory you can resample to higher resolution in the export dialogue. Just set Above DPI to e.g. 72, pick your Resampler and have checked Document Resolution or set your own DPI.

Affinity Publisher crashes when I use the space bar.
Joachim_L replied to Paul Cuffo's topic in V1 Bugs found on Windows
Have a look inside the Affinity application under Preferences > Performance if the option is selected. Just upload the file to the forum. I am not an expert, but this crash report does not contain any vital security relevant information to my knowledge.
