  1. Can you please expand on what you mean in regards to not working with a tablet? Are you referring to pressure controls with the brushes, or something else? If possible, a screen recording showing the difference between your mouse and drawing tablet inputs with the tool/brushes could help investigate further!
  2. Apologies for the delay here - thanks for all of the information and files provided above, this is certainly helpful! It does appears as though Affinity is having trouble with your laptops hardware, as I would expect the 'Default' GPU used to be your RTX 3050 Ti and not the Intel Iris Xe. I'm very glad to hear that specifying the Renderer to be the 3050 Ti allows the app to create/open documents as expected, both with H/A enabled & disabled - though I'll be logging all of the information & crash reports provided here with our development team, to see if we can better handle such setups in the future and improve Affinitys 'Default' GPU choice. I hope this helps and with the above settings I would expect you no longer experience any further issues - though of course we're more than happy to help if you do have any further concerns or questions
  4. Apologies for the delayed response here as I have been out of the office for the past few days. I can see from the Goodnotes helpfile that there are specific options when copy / pasting in the app for Handwriting: Is this option enabled currently, and do you see different behaviour with it disabled? Secondly, this may be controlled by iPadOS Scribble feature, which can turn your drawn words into editable text. Do you have this option enabled currently in iPadOS settings? Do you see different behaviour with this option disabled? I appreciate that you are seeing inconsistent behaviour within Affinity when pasting, but as I understand it the Affinity app itself does not specifically interpret this data in different ways - and there is no feature within Affinity to optically 'read' drawn content on your clipboard and paste this as text - this is either controlled by Goodnotes or iPadOS, and not the Affinity app directly. Have you tried using a Pasteboard Inspector / Viewer app on iPadOS, to see what Goodnotes is directly copying to your Pasteboard as recommend above? I have not personally used these on iPadOS, however from a quick search there appears to be many free apps that can achieve this for you, and might indicate a reason for the results you're seeing when pasting in Affinity
  5. Thanks for your report @Hangman & our apologies for the delay! I can see from the internal bug report that it appears our development team have confirmed that the behaviour with 90, 180 & 270 degree rotated objects and Set Section Box is expected, with the following reason: However, the bug you're reporting here seems to affect any rotational value that is not 90, 180 & 270 - after using the Set Section Box command. For example; Draw a rectangle Rotate by 45° Cycle Selection Box Set Selection Box Note the current Height & Width reported in Transform Draw a second rectangle using different size values Select the previously rotated object, then the newly drawn rectangle Make Same: Width ⚠Note the Width of the second rectangle does not match that of the rotated Regular Bounds rectangle, the Base Box value is used Make Same: Height ⚠Note the Height of the second rectangle does not match that of the rotated Regular Bounds rectangle, the Base Box value is used I can see arguments for both behaviours here - some users might expect the 'true' width / height of the object to be used, ignoring the rotational value affecting the Regular Bounds transform values however others may expect these Regular Bounds to be used after applying the Set Selection Box command. Therefore I'm checking this with our development team now as to their expected behaviour and will log this as a bug as required - once I have further information from our team I'll be sure to share this here
  6. My post above includes a quote from the Affinity and Canva pledge, which uses the wording "over the coming year" - this is all we have to share at this moment
  7. Hi @Besieged Parent, Our sincerest apologies for the delayed response here, we have been exceptionally busy following our Canva acquisition announcement which has temporarily increased our response time. We're working hard to stay on top of things, so we thank you for your patience and understanding here. Unfortunately however I'm unsure of the exact behaviour you're referring to - having checked in Affinity Publisher V1, V2.1 and V2.4, all 3 versions of the app do not support page scrolling with the Arrow Keys, which is also indicated in the below thread from 2021: Can you please confirm for me, what exact behaviour are you referring to here? As your initial post seems to indicate a feature was working for you previous to the 2.4.2 update, however the feature you have then described has never been supported in Publisher, as far as I'm aware. Many thanks in advance!
  8. Hi @Martin S Taylor, Thanks for your report and I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble. Our sincerest apologies for the delayed response here, we have been exceptionally busy following our Canva acquisition announcement which has temporarily increased our response time. We're working hard to stay on top of things, so we thank you for your patience and understanding here. I can see from your crash report provided that this crash appears to be due to Affinity::CloudServices::Content , which is the 'My Account' dialog feature of downloading and installing add-on kits within the Affinity apps. We've not previously seen this cause crashing in Affinity when the app is not in use, therefore I will be logging this with our content syncing team for further investigation. In the meantime, we might be able to stop these crashes from occurring by resetting the app back to default settings, removing any custom installed content. You can find out more about resetting the app back to default settings here - Once you have exported any custom content you wish to keep, launch the apps and hold down the CTRL key whilst the app loads. In the Clear User Data dialog, I'd recommend ensuring that all of the All Affinity 2 apps options in the second category are selected, as well as the Deactivate Affinity 2 apps option. After ticking these and selecting Clear, the app will then launch and prompt you to sign in with your Affinity ID to activate the apps. You can then return to My Account and reinstall any of your purchased add-ons, as required. Having completed these steps, do you find this crashing of the Affinity apps in the background stops?
  9. Hi @vernonelliot, Welcome to the Affinity Forums Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this - you cannot turn off a Tool in Affinity Designer, however if you don't wish to use the Pen Tool you can simply switch to a different tool (such as the Move Tool or the Node Tool) by selecting it from the left hand toolbar. If I've misunderstood what you're looking to achieve in Designer, can you please expand on what you mean by this, or the issue you are having? Many thanks in advance!
  10. Thanks for providing that! As recommended above, please try disabling Hardware Acceleration then restart the app as prompted and try opening your RAW files once again. You might also want to ensure your GPU drivers are fully up to date, I believe your PC is running an Intel i5-8250U, which you can find the latest Windows 11 drivers here - https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/776137/intel-7th-10th-gen-processor-graphics-windows.html?wapkw=i5-8250U Please do let me know if this helps
  11. Hi @Screwdriver, Welcome to the Affinity Forums! Your screenshot shows a few interesting things - firstly your RAW file is being displayed as fully transparent and secondly the Histogram (top right) is showing clear corruption, which both would indicate a graphics based issue. Can you please open the app and navigate to Edit > Settings > Performance and provide a screenshot of your settings here for me?
  13. Thanks for providing that for me! There is no gutter showing in the PDF file and I can see from the Print Preview that this gutter appears to be being added in Acrobat. I can't see any specific settings in your screenshot that would control this, though this will likely be found under the 'Advanced' settings or similar.
  14. Thanks for trying that for me and I'm sorry to hear this hasn't resolved the issue for you. Now that we've updated the GPU drivers, do you see different behaviour with Hardware Acceleration disabled? Is the application creating Crash Reports when closing? You can find previous installer versions linked below, I would be interested to know if the same issue does not exist in the previous update, as I'm not aware of any specific changes in 2.4.1/2.4.2 that would affect this - https://store.serif.com/update/windows/publisher/2/ Please do let me know how you get on here!
  16. No problem at all! You can using the Edit Detached command as I've linked above - but not without enabling this feature first. This is how Master Pages have always worked in Affinity Publisher
  17. Apologies - I had misread your initial post as delete and not move. If you wish to make any Transform changes to a Master Page object on a Document Page, you will need to do this in the Master Page itself, or using the Edit Detached option as referenced above. This is the reason that the 'blue Xs' are shown on the Text Frame, to indicate it cannot currently be transformed in it's current state (ie part of a Master Page, or Locked).
  18. Your screenshot shows that your Text Frame is part of a Master Page, applied to your document page. You will either need to delete the frame from the Master Page directly, or use Edit Detached to remove the Text Frame from the Master Page object on your document page. You can find out more about this below - Master Pages Editing Master Pages Detaching and linking Master Pages I hope this clears things up
  19. Thanks for your report @Hangman & apologies for the delayed response here! I believe the more pressing bug here is the fact that you can invert the data merge layout using this orange control handle, as I wouldn't expect this to allow for the data merge cells to fall outside of the bounding box for the main object - causing the redraw issues shown in your recordings. Therefore I'm getting this logged with our development team now. I hope this helps
  20. Hi @katydidk, Welcome to the Affinity Forums and we're sorry to hear you're having trouble. Our sincerest apologies for the delayed response here, we have been exceptionally busy following our Canva acquisition announcement which has temporarily increased our response time. We're working hard to stay on top of things, so we thank you for your patience and understanding here. I'd like to request a copy of a few files in order to further investigate this issue. Firstly, please open Windows Run (Windows Key + R) then paste the following string and press OK, depending on the Affinity installer type you are using: Affinity Store (MSIX) & Windows Store: %USERPROFILE%\.affinity\Photo\2.0\ Affinity Store (EXE) : %appdata%\Affinity\Photo\2.0\ In the window that opens, please select log.txt, then upload this to your reply here. Secondly, in the same folder as above, please open CrashReports and then reports - if any reports have been generated, they will be found here. Please attach the latest 3 .DMP reports from this folder. Finally, I'd like to request a copy of your event viewer log, to generate this please do the following. 1. Open Windows Run (Windows Key + R) and type the following - eventvwr 2. In the window that opens, select the Windows Logs drop-down list on the left and then Applications 3. With the Applications logs selected, navigate to the right side of the window and select Save All Events As... and save them as .evtx (the default option). 4. Attach this saved file to your reply here. Your reply should hopefully include the log.txt, the 3 most recent .DMP crash reports, and the .evtx event viewer log. Many thanks in advance!
  21. Hi @AvdA, Thanks for your post and our apologies for the delayed response here, we have been exceptionally busy following our Canva acquisition announcement which has temporarily increased our response time. We're working hard to stay on top of things, so we thank you for your patience and understanding here. I'm not personally familiar with Goodnotes 5, however the format of the object pasted within Affinity will almost always be based on the contents of the clipboard itself, rather than your recent activities within the file. One thing that may affect this is if a text object is already selected within the Affinity app, therefore I'd recommend making sure that no objects/layers are selected when pasting from Goodnotes. The clipboards contents are controlled by Goodnotes 5 when copied, and when pasting into Affinity the format of the object(s) pasted will depend on what has been copied. I don't believe there is a native clipboard inspector within iPadOS - however you may be able to download and install a third party inspector in order to confirm the exact contents before pasting. Do you notice any difference in the text within Goodnotes before copying, or do you copy/paste with a different workflow when you find the objects are pasted as text/as an image in Affinity? Or does this seemingly occur randomly when following the same workflow between Goodnotes and Designer? You may also wish to try the Paste Without Format option from the Edit menu (...), as you might find this provides different results than the default Paste option. I hope this helps
  22. Hi @PeterFinne, Thanks for your post & our apologies for the delayed response here - our team have been exceptionally busy following our Canva acquisition announcement which has temporarily increased our response time. We're working hard to stay on top of things, so we thank you for your patience and understanding here. Can you please attach a copy of the PDF document you have exported from Affinity? Unfortunately it's hard to be certain from the images you've provided if this is due to your export settings from Publisher or the PDF application you are using to print. If you open the PDF you have exported from Publisher in macOS Viewer from Finder and then Print the PDF from here, rather than from Acrobat - what results do you get with the file and gutter please?
  23. Hi @Pascho, Sorry to hear you're having trouble! The most common cause of a crash during startup on macOS is due to corrupted or incompatible fonts. Can you please confirm for me, do you have many fonts installed externally? Are you using a Font Manager for these? I'd like to see if the app is generating crash reports, as these may provide a clearer reason for these crashes. Please see the below FAQ for how to locate these reports - Can you attach the latest 2-3 reports from the Affinity app to your reply please? Many thanks in advance
  24. Thanks for letting me know - I agree these certainly appear to be similar issues under different reports, I'll get these linked together internally now for our development team. Unfortunately I'm not personally well-versed enough in font metrics to be certain if this is something that our team can fix, though I am sure if we can improve the way these fonts are handled in Affinity on Windows, our team will be happy to implement said improvements to the app
  25. Hi @imit, Welcome to the Affinity Forums & sorry to hear you're having trouble! As mentioned above, there are many settings that can cause this - if you have checked the above and are still having issues, can you please provide a screenshot of the full Affinity app, with the Paint Brush Tool selected and the Layers Studio visible? Many thanks in advance
